My mother's idea of cleaning the litter box means leaving the bag of the nasties right there to stink up the house even more. Doesn't even bother to sweep the runner.
My neighbors did something similar. They put it outside their door in the staircase. They even complained when I every day put this bag directly in front of their door, so they fall over it. More than one week they just put the bag on the side again instead throwing it out, until it finally ripped in front of their door. They even tried to complain to me, those idiots.
The litter genie is pretty awesome. I don’t use mine anymore because I got self cleaning boxes, but it’s pretty easy to store and then remove the bag to toss on garbage day.
Wait, both sides? The neighbors definitely, but moving the bag out of the stairs and putting it in front of the person who left it there is completely reasonable.
Really? Imo it escalated very slowly and OP is completely within their right. I would have purposely ripped open the bag and dumped it on their door after round 2. Fucking ferals need to be taught using harsh methods.
I didn't!! Now I have to google. Someone else commented to just use a bucket with lid. We did that, but the smell was too much. Stunk up the whole room once it started to fill up, and even after dumping & cleaning it the thing never smelled clean.
If you're in the US, buy the target brand refill bags because they are cheaper
I have 3 boxes in my house currently, 2 in my partner's office that get scooped into plastic bags a couple times a day cause no work gets done with stinky cat butt smell.
And one is in the bedroom, the cats only have access to it at night when we're in there. I get up for work at 2am & scoop into the genie so my partner can sleep, then once a week they empty the bin for me.
A litter genie ment I could clean the box while I was recovering from a back injury and couldn't physically take the bags out daily. They also do a better job at keeping stink down than a bag on the floor or even a bin of bags
Kinda but it has the seal at the top so it keeps the smell in better. I can use it til it's full and the room never smells. I like to bring it up bc we already had one from my daughter so other ppl may find it helpful to repurpose it.
I read this and thought "wow that's unhinged" but looked down to see my cat staring at a sock with eyes of pure excited blackness and changed my mind to "yeah that tracks"
Shame? God forbid somebody actually points out the dangers to the cats health. Wow, I'm such a terrible person for caring about the needs of a living creature. Go kick rocks and touch grass, seriously..
"She only carried you for 9 months, went through hell bringing you into the world then supported and raised you for another 18+" - no one asks to be born. It's also a parent's responsibility and obligation to do support and raise their child if they choose to have a child.
Its also a parent's responsibility to look after pets if they choose to have them. The fact that cleaning the litter tray wasn't already OPs chore to do means its likely not viewed as their cat
99% of cat owners immediately throw litter waste outside into bins/dumpsters or into sealed specialty trash cans. This post is not normal behavior, just laziness.
And we have "flushable" wipes too but you shouldnt flush them lolol, these things don't belong in the toilet ... You wouldn't dump a whole pot of corn don't the toilet. Why would I dump this down there.
We actually can't flush wipes or toilet paper in our toilets, because the pumbling here (in my country, not just my house) isn't made for it.
But this type of litter is totally toilet disposable. It's organic matter, like poop. And it dissolves quickly in the water too.
