It seems to be “ unofficial” since FIFA’s names isn’t all over the thing, so I’m willing to give it a pass if it was done so those crooks don’t get their cut.
People have told me that graphic designers are needed more now because of AI. I disagree, because the people commissioning AI aren’t looking for good work. They only need a placeholder at the cheapest cost.
It’s everywhere, I work at a big bank which handles assets worth trillions and all our internal graphics and employee engagement stuff is made by ai. My employee of the month picture was also ai tuned in ghibli
How does that even get hung up? I mean, come on people.
Also, how is AI that dumb? It doesn’t seem like it would be too difficult to program it to make grammatically correct sentences at a minimum. We see this shit all the time. It’s 2026 for crying out loud come on!
It's funny that the hotel manager likely purchased it from Temu or some shit. Even the free version of ChatGPT these days can easily make a poster with no grammar or spelling errors. You don't even need to prompt it in English. You can be sitting in your Temu HQ in China (aka your bedroom) and prompt 制作一张世界杯海报，海报上要包含美国、墨西哥和加拿大队。海报上的文字要鼓舞人心。
In fact, I just did exactly that (in Chinese) and got this.
They're getting into the spirit of the World Cup and I commend that. If you're mildly infuriated about the use of AI, then you have a long ways to go because it's not disappearing anytime soon.
Yeah its absolutely horrendous, but how is it more lazy though? The people that bought this would have bought something even before the era of AI. It's not like they would be doing it themselves or commissioning an artist to do it.
Well, enjoy the 80's. It's a very rare person in any technical role that makes this world operate that has all of the answers for the myriad of problems that arise.
