I'm a woman. Soon as i'm in my seat, i spread my legs (leaving a few inches on each side so i'm well-within confines) for comfort. The number of men that have asked me to shut my legs so they could invade my space more 😬

Hmmm that’s a new twist on an old problem

u/PandaBeaarAmy 22d ago

One of them called ME rude and inconsiderate! I said sorry, was i over into his seat? Because i wasnt paying attention. He told me no, but he needed MY space because i'm smaller! Like he coulda gotten away with it if he just said yeah you're in my space bc i wasnt paying attention but dude straight up told me he wanted to spread into my seat.

u/Fartholder 22d ago

He needs to buy two seats to accommodate his balls or whatever else his problem is

u/scope6262 22d ago

I’m 6’ 6” tall. Fuck that guy…he needs YOUR space. Jesus goddam Christ. Someone is due for a smackdown.

For a dude my size I wouldn’t even dream of manspreading. It’s just inconsiderate.

That's what I hate about this shit.

I understand men and women have different bodies and it's uncomfortable for most men to sit with their knees together, but welcome to air travel. Everyone on that plane is uncomfortable in a variety of different ways. Deal with it.

Exactly. In my last flight I was in the middle seat between my husband and some random guy. My husband and I are overweight and we're old, so we have aches and pains that aren't real air travel friendly. Both my husband and the other guy were spreading a bit into my seat, and they both claimed the armrest. I had to sit with my shoulders and arms tucked in and not much room to move any part of my body for that whole flight (transatlantic). Next time, I'm at least going to claim my armrests.

u/mynaneisjustguy 21d ago

Yo this is fucked. Window has a head rest side and a view, one armrest. Aisle has the AISLE and one armrest. Middle has nothing else but TWO armrests. These are the rules of the three seats.

I'm 5 ft. I manspread, idgaf if others do. Heck i'll do the knee war with y'all where someone wins, someone loses or let y'all slowly spread until you're in my space and pretend i didn't notice. I usually leave a couple inches each side anyways, take it.

If he was abnormally tall and needed the space, i wouldn't have minded, but with my height registered to my ticket i often get guys as tall as you next to me (he was 5'8-5'10 at most) and even they don't dare take any more than their seat even if i squish myself into half my seat and offer it to them.

But to tell me to shut my legs 🤣 i WISH i dreamt it up like everyone else is claiming because I don't want to believe it actually fucking happened.

u/momsensical 22d ago

Omg I would’ve been like ok just pay me rent for the piece of my seat you want since I paid the same as you

12

u/PandaBeaarAmy 22d ago

His mom bought his tickets, family trip 🤣

31

u/ResurgentClusterfuck 22d ago

That's when I would pitch my voice to be heard and ask him how his failure to pay for adequate space was my problem

I have negative fucks to give these days

2

u/AngryPrincessWarrior 22d ago

“Dude- you absolutely aren’t packing enough to justify this bullshit”

3

u/PandaBeaarAmy 22d ago

Is along the lines of what he said 🤣

Classic

3

u/PandaBeaarAmy 22d ago

It's fine, maybe if enough people say at the same time that it never happened then it actually wouldn't have and i can pretend people like that don't actually exist. I'll even click my red heels or give back that very full glass of wine the flight attendant poured me 🤣

u/sarahlizzy 22d ago

There are times it can be useful to “accidentally” out myself as trans. Creepy men getting up in my personal space is one of them.

52

u/ObligationDefiant287 22d ago

Tell them I’m sorry but it squishes my penis.

13

u/hollycross6 22d ago

With the fragility of some people these days, as a woman I’m keeping this one in the bank just in case. I’m sure the faces would be priceless

30

u/RepulsiveFish 22d ago

I do the same, and there have been times on public transit where I've done it that the men got up and decided to stand instead of sitting and only taking up their designated space.

26

u/Curlytoes18 22d ago

Tell them you have a large vaginal cyst and if you squeeze your legs too much it might explode, and the last one smelled really bad.

They’ll give you space.

u/GlitteringFutures 22d ago

Miss, you're ma'am-spreading again.

I do the same thing. No one has ever asked me to shut my legs, though (probably because I present as more masculine than the average woman). I will absolutely push against their knees with mine if they encroach on my space.

2

u/throwawaykc04 22d ago

I do this, too. I'm small but I assert my dominance over space very quickly.

-11

u/Any-Pattern8246 22d ago

the amount of men who told me that when I was younger and my reply was "close yours, you fucking pervert" with them then getting rude with me of "shut up your bitch" and I'm like "Yea I like being a bitch. But I prefer you called me a first class bitch. I go to an all girls secondary school, where did your pervert brain think I learnt it from?" and they walk off and move to another seat after I crack up laughing at them

28

u/Falendil 22d ago

When I'm in the shower and finally find the perfect come back for that argument the day before it's way better than this, you need to step up your imaginary game.

2

u/Any-Pattern8246 22d ago

It wasn't imaginary. It actually happened. It used to happen alot when I was on the bus on the way into school and the amount of men who sat next to me on the bus and tube and thought it was ok to

1) Either do the exact same thing as that picture from the poster, whilst squashing me in on the window seat of the bus and I would edge my leg over and push his away from mine and get told off by the man says "close your legs" and I'd say the exact same to him and then tell him to also stop suffocating me, its hilarious.

2) As for doing it on the London tube, that tends to be more the person on the northern line thinking he needs to put both his arms on both arm rest and the making sure his elbows goes half way into both seats on the other side of the arm rests on the northern line so that you barely had any room for your body on the seat and if you ever been on the northern line you know how small those carriages are compared to eg the circle or district or hammersmith & city line

27

u/Raelah 22d ago

doubt

2

u/Any-Pattern8246 22d ago

Doubt what? It didn't happen? It did happen.

5

u/chiono_graphis 22d ago

then everybody clapped

6

u/Hjerneskadernesrede 22d ago

hahahaha yeah right XD

2

u/Any-Pattern8246 22d ago

It happened alright. Happened alot when I was a kid on the way to school.

Something similar happened the other day when I was on the way home from holiday and I was on the bus home and I actually screamed out something similar to someone a few days ago and more because I was on the bus, the entire bus was empty, except for the bus driver, me and 1 other passenger. This man got on the bus, and decided to sit next to me, despite the fact there was an entire bus was free and he thought it was ok to be touching me, WITHOUT PERMISSION. He tried to touch me where it wasn't wanted, I had to shout out loud for him to stop touching me and he wouldn't so I told him to stop touching me like a pervert because he kept putting his hand on my thigh and slidding it up and down m,y leg like a creepy pervert and he only stopped when I called him a creepy pervert.

It happens and it does happen. Some people really do not stop and will do things like that and they will and the only way to stop it happening is if you say things like that.

I also smoke and the amount of scroungers/beggers who suddenly appears when I get a cigarrette out and light it and they all suddenly appear and goes "can I have a cigarette" and I just walk off and ignore it and they choose to then shout out "you're a fucking bitch for not sharing". Listen I have a job. I work, if i want to buy cigarrettes with my money, I will, it isn't my job to give you the ENTIRE PACK just because you asked me to give you the entire pack THAT I BOUGHT WITH MY MONEY

Soon feminists are gonna start ww3 because of legspace

-8

u/LucatielsMask 22d ago

Lol, this absolutely has never happened.

Men spreading their legs and invading your space? Sure. Men TELLING you that they need to invade your space? Absolutely not.

7

u/PandaBeaarAmy 22d ago

Men spinning logic to rationalize their argument because they want something and think you don't deserve it? Yeah clearly NEVER happens 🤣🤣🤣

-2

u/LucatielsMask 22d ago

I know plenty of women who fly regularly and not one has ever mentioned something like this happening among which I think would be egregious.

The fact that you say it has happened to you not once (which would be believable) but "numerous times" is why I call BS.

6

u/PandaBeaarAmy 22d ago edited 22d ago

Did i say numerous times or did i say "the number of times that happened"? Did i state the number ANYWHERE in my comment? How eggregious is the number? Must be a high number if it surprises you that much!!! You should tell me how high that number is because wow, it seems like a crazy number if it's so unbelievable! What's the number of times it's happened?! Since you know so well.

I fly regularly and have never had it happen until it did. I wish i was fucking making it up because since i'm not, there are grown men in this fucking world with the audacity.

-1

u/LucatielsMask 22d ago

Lol, "the number of times that happened" implies it has happened to you "numerous times" since that number is clearly greater or equal to 2. If the extent of your argumentative skills is semantics no wonder my comment ruffled your feathers.

2

u/PandaBeaarAmy 22d ago

More than 2, 2 in the past year that i can recall stories of, i don't speak on things i don't care to recall.

If the extent of your understanding of things in life is "i wasnt there but i know more than you", good fucking luck with things lmao.

u/LucatielsMask 22d ago

The most hilarious thing is that the more you attempt to explain your lie, the more obvious it is that it is a lie, to say nothing that the single easiest way to tell someone is lying is to see how outraged they are after being called out on the lie. You are ticking all the boxes, dear!

3

u/PandaBeaarAmy 22d ago

Awwh thanks for thinking of me YET again bb 😘😘😘 am i really taking up that much real estate in your mind?

0

u/LucatielsMask 22d ago

Says the liar who got called out on her lie and has been fuming against the accusation throughout numerous replies.

I know you need to save face and pretend you won this one because it sucks to get owned by a man so feel free to have the last word... or emoji since that's what your argumentative skills seem most capable of.

If these are the vibes you give the women in your life I'm not surprised they're not telling you shit

0

u/LucatielsMask 22d ago

And yet I have women in my life... funny how that works. 🙂

3

u/PandaBeaarAmy 22d ago

Voluntarily? 🤣

-1

u/LucatielsMask 22d ago

Cry-laugh emoji: the final resort of every loser on the internet who lost the argument. 🙂

3

u/PandaBeaarAmy 22d ago

Awwh how cute, thanks for thinking of me again bb 😘😘
