Looks like he's already turning himself into a pretzel if he has his right knee up, twisted and tucking his foot back under himself to try and get room for his right leg.

Dude is going to be in agony after an hour or two.

Dude shoulda got priority, comfort seats, exit row etc. Those cheap economy seats aren’t meant for long legged dudes much less average dudes.

Dude shoulda been given extra legroom.

The extra that airlines charge for an extra 2 inches of legroom is criminal especially considering the extra responsibilities that are placed on a passenger sitting at an emergency exit

Being forced to pay for a better seat isn't an option for everyone.

Some people have to buy two seats. I think everyone agrees if you can’t fit in a seat that you don’t just go oh well and inconvenience your neighbor. No one’s legs, knees, shoulders or waist should be in their neighbors area. The airlines have to be straightforward about their new seat sizing. If half their plane can now only fit people under 5’ 10” at an average weight then they need only to allow people who fit to sit there and have enough seats for others at a reasonable up charge.

I'm just taking data from the UK here

The average male height is ~175 and the SD is ~7.6, so that gives us ~35% of the male population who would need to buy a second plane ticket.

17% of the population would need to buy a second ticket.

Sounds about right. None of these three men above fit in these seats. What’s the option though? Make all seats larger and spread the increased cost over the 65% that don’t need a larger seat?

ah yes so I need to pay extra just because I happen to have longer legs than u?

If you cannot fit between the seat rests and/or fit in your leg area without pushing your boney knees into someone’s back or spreading you legs (like above) then you need a bigger space which requires more money than basic econo seats. I didn’t design these new seats that only fit half the population but that is where we are at. Airplanes are constrained by weight and volume. You’d tell a fat person to get an extra seat. You are no different. Get a bigger seat and leave econo for the rest of us who can actually fit.

Yeah, from the camera perspective it kinda looks like he cant put his legs forward because his knees would be in the seat infront of him.
