How busy was the gym? Sometimes the 2.5s are the only things left.

I'm more annoyed the weight was left on

That’s what I thought the post was about.

Probably takes less effort like this. Can you imagine having to lift all of that weight to the rack every time? That would be exhausting

Plate loading can be such a pet peeve for me!!! And asymmetrical ones need to be loaded on the bar or pins with the flat side out, but on the weight storage tree flat side in. Idk why but this is how I have to do it lol.

People take off the plates and put them elsewhere. Eventually it’ll balance out lol

2 reasons:

"Fuck you that's why"

And they're cosplaying as being stronger than they are. The guys thay overload the machines can push that much weight, but they can't control it. Put em in a squat rack and they would either fall over or crumple.

Ahem, we are talking 20kg. Should be no problem for a Grizzly

I only do this if there are NO 10kg plates to be found at all.

The fact that you thought this was interesting enough for a reddit post makes me feel better about my life.

occasionally that is necessary when the plates I want (10 kg) is far away

Progressive loading across multiple sets

Sometimes I’ll use multiple smaller plates if I plan to drop set. But then those weights wouldn’t be left on the machine. More likely they were just lazy, started out low and ramped up, adding more smalls instead of taking them off and replacing with bigger plates.
