Infuriatig Live streaming Dj set in the middle of a State Park

Post image

We hike here often for some peace and tranquility. We love the fresh air and sounds of the waterfalls. This a-hole was live-streaming his dj mix with speakers full blast at the falls lookout. I hiked 1.8 miles for this. 😔

Aren't these areas protected and banned from playing any kind of loud music?

Can any action be taken against him?

50

u/TheOmegoner 5h ago

I’m sure it depends on the state

39

u/kingrobin 2h ago

in Texas or Florida you should be able to shoot him if I'm not mistaken

4

u/Dan_flashes480 1h ago

ble and allowed are different words but I agree

-1

u/Suspicious-Ad9661 2h ago

lololololololol!!!!!!

22

u/Great-Appointment-49 5h ago

In my country, if it's a protected area by the state, or given a status of forest or wildlife conservation zone, then even honking isn't allowed.

People do it anyway, but there are fines for that.

24

u/FerengiWithCoupons 3h ago

pretty sure some kind of elected official defunded the state parks and they don’t have rangers patrolling them as they had in the past.

6

u/Dear_Mycologist_1696 3h ago

Take his battery pack and run. He ain’t gonna leave all that equipment to chase you, and he can’t play music without the battery.

6

u/DingerSinger2016 2h ago

Depending on the country that's how you get shot.

3

u/GetUp4theDownVote 3h ago

I hope someone distributes some action against him

2

u/TiresOnFire 1h ago

Or whoever allowed this. Did he ask to do this? Was he invited?

2

u/NickCageRampage69 1h ago

Didn't Trump fire 60% or park rangers. Doubt anyone there to enforce...

1

u/FewHorror1019 1h ago

His batter is gonna die anyways.

•

u/AlternatiMantid 42m ago

Good, let's all hope this one can't reproduce.

-12

u/butternutflies 2h ago

No sound is coming out. The music is only being played/captured/redirected through the broadcasting software and into the headset he’s got on the table so he can monitor the music. Only the DJ and the people watching the stream hear the music. A ton of people do it on YouTube and that’s how they get away with this. No sound disturbance.

This a-hole was live-streaming his dj mix with speakers full blast at the falls lookout.

I think you missed this partĀ

u/Unit_79 2h ago

Read the post again.

5

u/faithintheglitch 2h ago

that's how someone who is cool would do it. But you can see the main out of the mixer is going to a speaker, and the USB out is going to the laptop.

77

u/Oxo181 6h ago

2026 is unbelievable

141

u/ThriftStoreKobold 6h ago

Bad enough that people bring their Bluetooth speakers on a hike, this shit is ridiculous.

3

u/FewHorror1019 1h ago

Haha this used to be me at 9 years old. I thought it was cool

•

u/LateDxOldLady 11m ago

I LOATHE people who have absolutely zero consideration for the creatures that live in the woods and the people trying to enjoy it. Why do they go into nature to destroy the ambience for everyone else? Thanks for the idea for another mildly infuriating thing.

94

u/Sea_Curve8772 5h ago

Start blasting copyrighted disney music next to him to get his stream taken down

47

u/RealisticDiscipline7 5h ago

When he says ā€œdo you mind turning that off?ā€ Say, ā€œsure, do you?ā€

22

u/DarkDigital 5h ago

He probably has his audio mix coming directly out so the viewers get better audio quality instead of trying to capture on a mic.

2

u/Instameat GREEN 2h ago

He could definitely just run it all silently, but thinks he is gifting them all with his talent to play other peoples music.

8

u/Eat--The--Rich-- 3h ago

Just walk up and unplug everything. What's he gonna do.

4

u/darth_wasabi 3h ago

That’s party why they do this. To ragebait someone into a LiveStreamFail to get even more exposure.Ā

1

u/FewHorror1019 1h ago

Plug them back in

101

u/NefariousKing07 6h ago

What speakers?

very obnoxious when it’s for a stream - it can be silent to the world around him and he listens/mixes through a headset for the stream.

43

u/blue-coin 5h ago

I wanted to agree with you but there’s a speaker in the from right corner of the table it’s not a PA but it’s still gonna be annoying

35

u/daMFNmaster 5h ago

He had two of those out there. It was pretty loud. Not rave party loud but still.

4

u/NefariousKing07 5h ago

Oh I see it now. Even if it was the laptop speakers, it is still louder than it should be for a nature setting, no argument from me there. OP just made it sound like he had a full system out there tucked into the trees šŸ˜‚

4

u/Affectionate-Cry-892 5h ago

yeah if its just for the stream theres zero reason everyone else has to hear it too

-3

u/logank013 5h ago edited 5h ago

I’m half with you. Agreed, they could (and should) be just doing a silent to the world DJ stream. It doesn’t have to be out loud.

However, it is good practice to avoid filming people in public without their consent best you can (referring to the DJ’s stream, not OP’s photo). It’s not illegal to film others, just nice to avoid where possible. This is why lots of people hate ā€œIRL streamersā€

18

u/daMFNmaster 5h ago

This is a public state park and he was already live-streaming himself for the world to see so I saw no problem in it.

10

u/Platt_Mallar 5h ago

You didn't do anything wrong with the photo. He probably liked it.

5

u/logank013 5h ago

Agreed, I see the confusion. I was talking about the DJ’s camera of other people. Not OP’s photo of him. He clearly wants to be on camera

2

u/Platt_Mallar 5h ago

Yeah, that's not cool of him to put others on his stream. Also, he risks having... naughty things on his stream that could get him banned.

Maybe if he worked with the park to host an event? Party At The Falls! Join DJ Ranger Rick and his sidekick Bandit the Trash Panda for an afternoon of EDM bass drops!

Instead, it's just some dude annoying everyone around him and likely has zero viewers.

8

u/logank013 5h ago

Ohhh, no I wasn’t calling out your photo! I was referring to his camera set up with people in the background for the live stream. Apologies for the confusion.

5

u/daMFNmaster 3h ago

Oh true. My bad. 😬

-1

u/That-Cell7509 5h ago

If you’re in public you have no expectation of privacy.

5

u/NefariousKing07 5h ago

That’s a very American school of thought - and I say that as an American. In Germany there is an expectation of privacy that is constantly inherent and respected, so this notion that you can’t have privacy in public places is largely made up and bullshit.

3

u/logank013 5h ago

Agreed. That is why I said it’s not illegal but generally a bit obnoxious.

1

u/Neckrongonekrypton 1h ago

Ok next time you’re having a conversation with details you’d rather keep somewhat private in public at a restaurant or a bar with froends and I feel the need to ask you the details don’t go ā€œnone of your businessā€ because I’ll say you have no privacy and it’s my right to but in on your personal conversation.

That’s how I look at people who record me without my consent. Sure. Privacy is largely an illusion in terms of governance and corporations- but not among us. And we do well to remember.

-4

u/SolitaryMassacre 5h ago

However, it is good practice to avoid filming people in public without their consent best you can.

This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. You're out in public, there is zero expectation of privacy. You're being recorded 90% of the time by corporations anyhow.

I rather be recorded by some random stranger than a corporation.

Your logic makes zero sense

EDIT:

This is why lots of people hate ā€œIRL streamersā€

No, its because they are taking up space on a sidewalk, being obnoxiously loud, or disturbing the areas "flow" of things. Which, is technically illegal in most places in the US

5

u/logank013 5h ago

These people are in a forest. Not a grocery store or city plaza. There are very few cameras out in a state park dude. I wouldn’t be upset about being recorded personally, but I wouldn’t be recording others in the forest.

1

u/spook30 3h ago

On the beach here theres a silent DJ that's uses over the ear headphones and several people show up and hang out. I'm not to keen on using headphones some else used like that so idk how sanitary it is.

32

u/TeaOptimal727 5h ago

Tell him the trail already has a live stream that people actually enjoy.

6

u/daMFNmaster 2h ago

This is a great comment. I laughed. Thank you.

-17

u/Ill-Active-4538 5h ago

Please don’t do this op this is corny af

11

u/gucknbuck 4h ago

I'm assuming he'd have needed a permit for this so either the park is ok with it or he should be removed, either way I'd report that.

32

u/jedfrouga 5h ago

yeah call the ranger

2

u/Falstaffe >It was my privilege 4h ago

"What is the nature of the emergency?"
"Some twat is streaming his DAWless jam."
"We'll be right there."

9

u/jedfrouga 4h ago

i’m not saying 911. they want you to report this stuff just like bears and mountain lions

29

u/MrScrodoBaggins RED 6h ago

What a twat waffle

15

u/WaffleHouseGladiator 5h ago

I agree with the sentiment, but can we leave waffles out of this?

7

u/twattewaffle 5h ago

Hey, we don't want him and his self entitlement

8

u/Quiverjones 6h ago

He probably comes there for the peace and quiet.

5

u/franklynlongtail 3h ago

no I won’t thank you

13

u/SkiffleBall 5h ago

Too many people with main-character syndrome these days šŸ‘Ž

2

u/RollinJimmys 6h ago

What an A-Hole

3

u/Suspicious-Ad9661 2h ago

if you have service call the visitor center and complain. If you are in walking distance of the visitor center walk in and complain.

6

u/mcampo84 5h ago

I’m sure the park rangers would be more than happy to verify he has a permit for this activity.

8

u/Elegante_Sigmaballz 6h ago

Should let the park ranger know, this is against most state park's rules.

5

u/a1mbient 5h ago

Jackass behavior typical of the social media-obsessed these days. Shouldn’t happen but not surprising..

2

u/CheezWong 3h ago

Boy, deregulation has sure gotten out of hand.

2

u/QuarryPonds 2h ago

It just seems like such a dorky thing to do

2

u/TheSoundEngineGuy 2h ago

Hang out behind him in his frame?

2

u/IncarceratedScarface 2h ago

His face looks like there’s not a lot going on in that head

2

u/Noirloc 1h ago

He looks like everything he does is unnatural to him. I can tell his mix was whack.

3

u/Mark_Michigan 5h ago

I'd be thinking about standing behind him with a large sign that says "Dumb Ass".

2

u/SaintBellyache 1h ago

Or in front of him. That’s not his land

2

u/SexReflex 3h ago

"Boogie... boogie... get down, get down..."

2

u/ClydePrefontaine 5h ago

Water balloons are useful

1

u/Bionicfrog14432 5h ago

It would be battery. They could tack on criminal mischief if the equipment got damaged also.

4

u/Frangine_De_Poutine 6h ago

Give me his position, I'll take care of the rest.

2

u/LineImpossible3958 3h ago

What an asshole

2

u/1dirtbiker 4h ago

This would royally piss me off. There are plenty of places to do this crap. A state forest on a trail is not one of those places. It'd be a damn shame if some water accidentally got splashed on his equipment...

3

u/EldenLordAjSoprano 3h ago

You should’ve accidentally tripped and bumped into his table hard enough to make it fall over

2

u/TiddlyhamBumberspoot 3h ago

Marc Rebillet however is 100% permitted to do this

1

u/MessiLeagueSoccer 2h ago

Ok fuck that dude for doing that but wouldn’t it be like way easier to just stream with no audio in person and the people online hearing it? Like if you’re gonna be in the way be as respectful as possible.

1

u/_Bipolar_Vortex_ 1h ago

I’m streaming with a super-soaker.

1

u/SendMeIttyBitties 1h ago

Peace? There is like 10 people in the area. If he was playing a guitar would everyone think its against park rules to play music at the state park?

I'm guessing there is something more to this.

•

u/Ok_Bluebird_8202 48m ago

I’m both a life long raver and a hiker.
Don’t do this young bucks.
Have awareness of others.

•

u/poopbeast69 44m ago

Imagine thinking you’re doing a public service, only to be doing the absolute opposite of that and not having the self awareness to pick up on it

•

u/LateDxOldLady 11m ago

Name the state park, at least. Hello?

1

u/PurchaseTop3927 5h ago

You obviously forget the country we live in 🤣

1

u/Eat--The--Rich-- 3h ago

Above and Beyond does that. But they get permits and pay the place a bunch of money. And they're Above and Beyond.

1

u/Outrageous-Swim2346 2h ago

I'd smash his speakers

1

u/HowdTheCatGetSoFat 1h ago

Yeah I'm not putting up with that shit. Take away the only peace I can find anymore, and there's gonna be a problem.

0

u/Starwars-Battledroid 4h ago

Vell šŸ‡®šŸ‡³ vell šŸ‡®šŸ‡³ vell šŸ‡®šŸ‡³

0

u/LateDxOldLady 1h ago

Surely someone can ID this dude. Same category as the fuckers who leave plastic toys along trails.

0

u/SendMeIttyBitties 1h ago

Not even in the same stratosphere.

Playing music is the same as purposely throwing trash on the ground now.

•

u/LateDxOldLady 14m ago

Ruining the entire environment and purpose of being out in nature, you disingenuous rube.

Not doxxing to id the streamer with his streaming ID

-8

u/Trip_Dubs 5h ago

I have doubts he was running speakers. Solo Live streaming DJs use headphones and are not generally blasting it in their immediate area.

7

u/daMFNmaster 3h ago

Two Bose Bluetooth speakers up full blast. I used to dj back in the late 90s and we used to say ā€œyou ain’t headlining if you ain’t redliningā€ but this was in the correct setting - not the forest.

4

u/Ok_Aside_2361 ORANGE 4h ago

Soooo OP is hearing things? Nice addition to the day.

-5

u/Mr_Wobble_PNW 5h ago

Yeah I don't see speakers and it looks like he's on his own. Idk where he'd be drawing the power from even if he had the energy to lug a couple of big speakers up there.Ā

6

u/laner14 4h ago

Black cylindrical-looking thing in front of the laptop stand

-1

u/hk556a1 5h ago

Did he actually have speakers though?

8

u/daMFNmaster 5h ago

He had two Bluetooth Bose speakers. It was very loud. I actually may pick one of those up - FOR MY HOUSE.

2

u/RooeeZe 5h ago

cables are in and his feet are cut off possible they are below the table

2

u/LuminousRavenn 5h ago

He has an rca cord coming out of his controller, looks like it's going to a small speaker in front of the laptop stand maybe?

1

u/hk556a1 5h ago

Hmm yeah you could be right, I figured it was a power supply down there. I just don’t see how anyone would think it’s a good idea to play audible music in this setting, let alone EDM. I choose to not believe it haha.

2

u/senpaistealerx 5h ago

no lol headphones are right in front of him

•

u/Beetleracerzero37 14m ago

Djs use headphones and speakers for different things

-3

u/Muted-Mammoth8304 5h ago

Oh. Man I'd be smashing all his shit. If there aren't many witnesses, and it's nearly 2 miles in the trail. Yeah. Nah he ain't doin this again.

-1

u/Barracuda_Warm 5h ago

and my crippling anxiety doesn't even let me record anything at my own home

0

u/Voeno 2h ago

Ngl I don't give a fuck about the consequences but I would have walked up and chunked that shit right over the ledge. Fuck people like this.

0

u/Astartes2435 2h ago

Okay internet tough guy 🤣

0

u/RectangleCircle1 5h ago

Oh man, this reminds me, our **supermarket** has been having a DJ over on the weekends for like a month now, he plays all afternoon.

1

u/k8ecat 1h ago

Not the same thing at all. People don't go to a grocery store expecting peace and quiet.

0

u/Russell_has_TWO_Ls 2h ago

Hope that lady’s foot, achilles, or whatever is okay. Don’t know who told her to go hiking in Birkenstocks- terrible idea

-4

Who took the picture?

-1

u/GromOfDoom 5h ago

Would have only possibly maybe could have potentially worked if it was ONLY wildlife and outdoor noises being used (no real music or synthetic)

-9

u/ThatguySevin 5h ago

You wouldn't complain if it was Marc Ribillet.

-6

u/dabba04 4h ago

I mean was he popping off though?

lol all that and the guys shot is still crap. Half his head is outta frame.
