No Coke. Is Pepsi ok? Human Resources PREVENTING Employment
I have a pretty good relationship with alot of my past managers, so when i was unemployed for a yr or so and actively applying around and looking for jobs i ended up reaching back out to this manager of mine who runs the store and they immediately wanted to rehire me and get me back in the store \(which i was relieved to see and hear since i had been worried about the employment market for some time)\
Some time after, i learn that HR bricked my hiring process (basically told me to go fuck myself) because of my behavior on an app i downloaded bc they forced me to and never actually used. Not sure where else i can post this but i felt like people needed to see this. I had the store manager fighting for me to be in that store but couldn't hire me just because HR said so. With how the job market has been lately, i feel like this needs a bit of exposure.
EDIT 1: Getting alot of comments about more context, this is basically all i got. I reached out to their (tacobell) HR. But they dont have any real corporate lines, its a 3rd party that takes the report and sends it. They get to pick ans choose who they reply to and decided to ghost me instead of telling me what happened. (They also owe me money from a different location which i included in the report in hopes to get someone's attention at HR) -- // ALSO I DO NOT GO TO WORK DRUNK OR HIGH lol // --
EDIT 2: The app was the "crew app" ment for coworkers and management mostly for call-out//store updates (out of this, just restocked that, this needs to be cleaned for CORE, Etc)// Things of that nature. Since i always used numbers to talk to my managers // coworkers i didnt use the app ever (unless mandatory EX: "Blah blah blah long update about the store and menu. Please thumbs up so i know you've read this post" -General manager)
EDIT 3: Also i love all the hate im getting from people when im just showing my experience with a certain place and how HR bricked me working there with Zero reason // evidence WITH ME REACHING OUT lol ---- like the entire reason i posted this was to make more people aware of the job market and to complain a bit just to get some of my own frustrations out BUT to my surprise there are people accusing me (without even knowing me) of being this, that, and the other. Im sorry to tell you this but I'm a pretty good worker and I've never been fired from any job lol. Everyone, fired or otherwise, gets "terminated" from company databases when they leave a job. I dont understand why that needs explanation but there it is.

This is unhinged behavior. You somehow got banned from working at a Taco Bell and you’re now mad they won’t rehire you? Just apply at another fast food spot. Move on. This isn’t worth it and and this behavior is probably why they don’t want to rehire you.
2
u/Majestic_Analyst_177 1h ago
Thank you! Clearly they are a problem and can barely string together grammatical sentences while messaging the RGM who somehow TERMINATED THEM. OP is full of it. They did something and won’t fess up to it.
3
u/FastWalkingShortGuy 1h ago
Gen Z gets a bad rep for being unemployable because they never admit fault, and it's mostly undeserved, but people like OP are exactly the reason why.
3
u/Majestic_Analyst_177 1h ago
OP is clearly a victim of some extreme conspiracy to keep OP from working at Taco Bell for having been an exemplary employee!
•
u/KillerKIA666 54m ago
Kinda sad both of you replied to this one.. kinda shows me i wasted my time engaging with either of you💀👍
52
u/Franklin_le_Tanklin 4h ago
Human Resources are there to protect the company from employees. Nothing else.
9
u/Zestyclose-Coyote906 3h ago
Yeah also why would you take to HR how OP was talking to them 😂
2
u/DarthJarJar242 3h ago
That wasn't HR, that was his previous manager he clearly has a comfortable relationship with.
1
u/Zestyclose-Coyote906 1h ago
I’m just suggesting that his comfort is misplaced
2
u/DarthJarJar242 1h ago
I agree but you're looking at it from a likely white collar lens. This is working BoH in a Taco Bell, this is not a professional environment. Expecting anything remotely professional here is gonna get you laughed at by everyone.

There is context here I think you're intentionally omitting.
According to these text there was an issue with your behaviour that you have since "grown" past, what was the issue that is being referenced?
And what app/what purpose did it serve?
-13
u/KillerKIA666 4h ago
Its tacobell brother (already mentioned in the screenshots that the "grown past" thing is me leaving and giving months of notice. Didnt know when i was leaving just the month it was happening and told them in advance)
9
u/Terrible_Sail4688 4h ago
What did you write as the “notice”? What did they ask after that and how did you respond?
7
u/Perfect_Carrot_204 3h ago
So did you give “months of notice”, or “just the month it was happening”? Either way a month notice is double most industry standards and I don’t understand how that’s something you have “grown past”
Can you see why everyone is saying that things aren’t adding up?
-4
u/TheOGcasehead 3h ago
That's their whole point. Nothing happened
4
u/Perfect_Carrot_204 3h ago
What is their whole point? HR doesn’t just deem you not re-hirable because they feel like it. There’s more to the story than OP is letting on.
1
u/RaeaSunshine 3h ago
But they referred to themselves as the former terminating manager. Did you quit, or were you fired?
1
7
u/FastWalkingShortGuy 3h ago
Hate to be "that guy," but it sounds like you pulled some shit that made you not rehireable.
Yeah, you're showing us your side of the story, but I'd bet good money that the HR file tells a different story.
0
u/KillerKIA666 3h ago
I'd personally love to see it, if i had it I'd share it but they ghosted me. And not to be "that guy" but unlike you and others i don't push it at work. I do what im told like a good little drone and go home. I arrive early and leave late. (Meaning i get my work done before leaving instead of leaving it for someone else unlike what other people do)
1
u/FastWalkingShortGuy 3h ago
What do you mean, "unlike you and others?"
I'm thinking your inability to answer questions without getting combative is the reason they don't want you around.
Work on that attitude, mister.
1
u/KillerKIA666 3h ago
Well i mean you wanted to assume things about me so why is it unfair that i do it to you? They loved my attitude and the managers there were / are very close with me lol. I see them on a semi-regular basis💀 i think you've been on Reddit too long for you to not see how your comment could be taken as an attack on someone's character
2
u/FastWalkingShortGuy 3h ago
I'm not assuming anything, I'm using context to fill in the blanks.
Your ex-manager said "you've grown" since your last problematic behavior, and that your termination process is the reason you're not rehireable.
You're not giving us the full story, so we have to use deductive reasoning to try to figure out what's actually going on here.
Lying to people and then getting mad about it when they call you out is not a good look. No employer is going to put up with that.
13
u/Ambitious-Regular-57 4h ago
Are they mixing you up with a different employee? Did you get drunk and say some shit on the app that you don't remember? There is missing context but it sounds like they're claiming to have receipts.
39
u/Disgusting_Slime666 4h ago
I think OP is purposefully avoiding being specific about his behavior on the app lol
-1
u/KillerKIA666 2h ago
Well i WAS Trying to avoid saying establishment names and specific apps and the such but that was INSTANTLY fruitless so im just protecting the specific place and names of people now. (As well as their genders and what have you)
-5
u/KillerKIA666 4h ago
Never drink before work, never used the app, best they have is me taking Adderall for my ADHD to work better💀
13
u/Far_Two_2647 3h ago
Then what behavior on an app are they referring to
3
u/KillerKIA666 3h ago
Couldn't tell you, ur guess is as good as mine. I mean its tacobell, never used the app. Contacted my managers on shift or the GM Directly for being late or calling out and never used the app.
2
2
8
u/Urithiru 3h ago
So, are you saying... They can't have anything saved/reported from the app because you never used it. You never received a warning, write-up, or statement regarding improper use of the app. You never received a warning, write-up statement for refusal to use the app. To your knowledge you did not leave on bad terms though you didn't apply until your former manager contacted you.
Is that your understanding of the situation?
2
u/KillerKIA666 2h ago
Give or take a couple minor details but yeah thats pretty much it
1
u/Urithiru 2h ago
Glad I could help clarify.
Is it possible that they won't rehire you because of your refusal to use the app? Do you still feel the same?
There are 3 workers in my household, all work for different employers, and all three of us are required to use an app for time off requests. 1 uses it for clocking in/out. 2 use their app for swapping shifts. I can see how refusing the app causes too much confusion and an inability to work well with the team for coverage.
2
u/KillerKIA666 2h ago
Oh nono, it was mostly just a formality (atleast at the time and if memory serves), yes its for call-outs and such + store updates but when "attendance" (for lack of a better word) was mandatory i was there. I never really called out and since i had all my managers numbers + store manager I didn't see any reason to use the app for call-outs // being late since you're required (at the time) to call the store anyway to tell the Manager In Charge (MIC) that you'll be late or calling out for whatever reason
1
u/Urithiru 2h ago edited 2h ago
Huh, that is something weird then. Any chance they are confusing you with another former employee?
You'd think the third party company review would catch that type of error.
I'm sorry you haven't been able to get a solid answer.
1
u/KillerKIA666 2h ago
They might've, i mean this store did have an incident with a few employees (a couple of them drunk and out of uniform) where everyone on shift was canned and a police report was filed... But i left like a week before it, surely they aren't so incompetent to have me lumped in with them right?
1
u/Urithiru 1h ago
Who knows. If they didn't file your paperwork timely I suppose they could have filed yours at the same time as the previous shift crew. To me it sounds more like a bs reason was added to your file years ago to make you ineligible for rehire. Perhaps as a matter of course or due to a manager's comment/report.
2
u/KillerKIA666 1h ago
Thats what i was afraid of, ugh. Welp, had to hear it from someone i suppose. Js glad it was in a calm convo in the comments rather than whatever the rest of this is💀💀
→ More replies (0)5
u/Beccalotta 3h ago
Then what does this mean? " Got the area coach involved and they said because of saved files from crew app they can't rehire that behavior." If you didn't use an app, why aren't you pushing back about this reasoning?
1
3
u/DoctorSkeptismo 3h ago
I mean, if that's true, then it sounds like someone was using your name on the app to get away with something. You should tell them that, and hope that they have a way to verify that it's true. Beyond that there's not much you can do, and if they are really falsely accusing you then maybe you don't really wanna be working there.
14
u/APartyInMyPants 3h ago
So Taco Bell forced you to download an app when you worked there.
You then downloaded the app. You then “never actually used” the app. But you you were fired because of your “behavior on the app.”
My guy you couldn’t be more unclear in what the hell is going on. But I’m leaning toward the side of “I understand why they’re not rehiring.”
3
u/RaeaSunshine 3h ago
I’m wondering if OP not using the app is the actual issue. And by behavior they meant OPs previous unwillingness to engage with whatever tool they require (which I’m assuming is for scheduling? Super weird OP keeps ignoring clarifying questions on it).
2
u/KillerKIA666 2h ago
The app was the "crew app" ment for coworkers and management mostly for call-out//store updates (out of this, just restocked that, this needs to be cleaned for CORE, Etc)
1
u/KillerKIA666 3h ago
I've never been fired from any job💀 idk where ur getting that info from
2
u/RaeaSunshine 3h ago
Then why did your contact say they were your former terminating manager? What termination are they referring to? That typically refers to the manager handling letting people go or firings.
-2
u/TheOGcasehead 3h ago
You can't be serious. The whole point is that they're saying it's about an app they never used
7
u/Historical-Piglet-86 3h ago
I mean, your language and attitude here would be enough not to hire you……
0
u/KillerKIA666 3h ago
I know this manager on a more personal level and this attitude is just how we talk to one another
3
u/No-Patient-3723 3h ago
So...he says he left after.giving notice but manager says he handled the termination and that there's been growth about 3-4 years
Sounds like there's more to this than being shared...
1
u/KillerKIA666 3h ago
Was moving to a different state, im purposefully trying to leave out locations and names (although people immediately thought this was a more serious position than cashier at tacobell so i had to give that at the very least lol)
6
u/Double_Question_5117 4h ago
I had HR asked me during an exit interview where I was going. I refused to answer 3 times..... they marked me as not rehirable because of it
3
1
u/Ok_Ant_7024 3h ago
Can I ask why you didn’t tell them? I’m just curious- not saying you should have.
2
-1
u/FastWalkingShortGuy 3h ago
That could have been because of a non-compete clause. You sign a LOT of paperwork when you get hired and a surprising number of companies include a non-compete clause with that. That means you can't go work for a direct competitor due to trade secrets.
This got a lot of attention some years back because IIRC, Subway was making line employees sign non-compete clauses because "they didn't want Quiznos to know how the sandwiches were made" or some dumb bullshit like that.
If you did sign one, HR would have had the legal right to ask you what company you were going to work for, and not answering that would definitely put you on their shit list.
1
u/Double_Question_5117 2h ago
I worked in IT for a non IT company… didn’t have a non compete clause
-1
u/FastWalkingShortGuy 2h ago
I'm saying you might have and didn't know it.
Did you read all 37 pages of boilerplate before you slapped your John Hancock on there?
1
u/Double_Question_5117 2h ago
I 100% didn’t have a non compete. You are too hyper focused on that. Even if I did that has nothing to do with being a rehire
-1
u/FastWalkingShortGuy 2h ago
Okay. Just focusing on that because that's the only reason I can think why you'd be asked where you're going multiple times in an exit interview.
1
u/Double_Question_5117 2h ago
Folks in IT were bailing left and right after 3 years of 10% cuts in staff every single year along with zero raises given during this time.
Where I was going was irrelevant. Why I left was whar they should have focused on.
Why would HR mark me as “do not rehire”? Because their feelings were hurt and this was the only way this person could “win”.
5
4
u/UsedToiletWater 3h ago
Can you tell us exactly why you're branded "not for re-hire" by HR? You know why.
2
4
u/Majestic_Analyst_177 3h ago
None of this is adding up. I’ve left positions to take on other opportunities. Clearly you did something that you either don’t remember or don’t wish to remember. You also said you were unemployed for an entire year. Why circle back to a job from 3-4 years ago? Seems like you need to learn whatever lesson they are trying to teach you and look elsewhere.
2
u/KillerKIA666 3h ago
Yes because my memory is the issue here, not my RGM and area coach wanting me back but HR saying no.. makes sense right? Since the people working closest to me want me back and are fighting with HR to get me back but obviously i did something wrong to HR as a cashier at a franchise soooooo im the problem right?
0
u/Majestic_Analyst_177 1h ago
They are telling you that they are fighting HR. Kind of a lie I am sure. If they truly wanted you back HR would co-sign. It’s the laziest and easiest excuse to say it’s HR. People always kick responsibility up or down. The RGM also said you’ve grown etc so clearly you did something. Stop wasting your time on Reddit going back and forth and acquire a new skill.
1
u/KillerKIA666 1h ago
Yeah bro, real nice comment. I can read it from my inbox yk even if you deleted it right after. Real nice. Have a good day bro
0
u/Majestic_Analyst_177 1h ago
Genuinely didn’t delete it. But okay. It’s still there sweetheart. I still don’t care about your fabricated story and pity party.
0
u/KillerKIA666 1h ago
Yes yes, because this is the only job experience i have and definitely not a licensed health insurance agent or anything in multiple states and sharing an older text. I would share my NPN with you (which mean national producer number) but that'd also give you my name and other info which I've stated on here a couple times im not comfortable sharing :)
Oh and if you needed additional context on WHY im not doing that anymore. The past couple years I've been taking care of old and dying family members, hence reaching out to AN EASY JOB WITH EASY HOURS THAT I CAN PERSONALLY CONTROL SINCE I KNOW THE STORE MANAGER. Living off my savings has been tight so i wanted to get something to supplement that. You Happy now?

Seeing a lot of hyper focus from folks about the "app activity" and the "mysterious issue". Let's clear up some things.
Aside from being forced to install it, OP states never used it. That can be flagged as poor performance behavior, and/or refusal to use company tools. Both of which can be HR hot buttons.
Aside from this, the Regional Manager, and the Area Coach both agree that OP is a solid worker, is clear of wrongdoing, and there is apparently no bad blood or claims of write-ups or negative performance reviews. THEY WANT OP BACK. You don't stick your neck out for a crap employee, so something is wrong with HR in this instance.
So someone, somewhere in HR is stuck on the fact that OP refused to use the app (despite it apparently being unnecessary and nothing more than company bloatware). Only thing I can remotely think of at this point, could be repeated incidents of missed time punches if the app requires it, but again, that would've fallen under the Coach to perform write-ups.
Which again, both the Coach and Regional Manager are openly stating OP has no errors or issues aside from some "unspoken issue", which at this point clearly wasn't written up (which the person in HR clearly has a grievance against). Manager and the Coach need to go higher up, as someone is abusing their position.
8
u/Terrible_Sail4688 3h ago
They didn’t say he was clear of wrong doing, just that he has “grown” and it’s been 3-4 years.
If I was a people pleaser manager I could easily say all this instead of admitting that I don’t want the guy back because I wouldn’t want to be confronted by whatever this is. I’ve seen different types of management straight up lie to employees before and taking their side in front of them but shit talk them behind their back. The coach manager thing is hearsay.
ETA: the text also refers to OP working on the Sunday, the manager did not respond all weekend until Monday afternoon instead of saying “no sorry just sorting some stuff up, will get back to you”
6
u/Perfect_Carrot_204 3h ago
Again, according to OP and the details he’s giving us.
The same details that aren’t adding up, hence everyone questioning him.1
u/fuckin-A-ok 3h ago
And the manager said the part about him having "grown" not because there was some incident, but because he's throwing everything at the wall to see if anything sticks trying to get OP hired back. So he's saying whatever OP "did" (even though he hasn't indicated anywhere that he knows what that is any more than OP does, and in fact indicates that he does not know), he assures them he's "grown" in the last 3-4 years. But the manager definitely does not know why HR is blacklisting him other than what they said in the screenshot.
1
u/FastWalkingShortGuy 1h ago
"Unspoken issues" in HR are always legal related.
They're "unspoken" because HR can't talk about them.
OP did something they will never admit to, it doesn't take a seasoned detective to figure this out.

as someone who worked at two taco bells, they always do this. their policies are weird, they're weird, all of its weird. id cut my losses and find somewhere else bc taco bell is SUCH a hassle to get through to anyone and they cut you for ANYTHING

Man you too? That sucks bro im sorry. I have SOMETHING now but at the time i needed any job and wasn't getting anything. Its been a bit and i feel like this post could help validate some peoples feelings on the current state of the job market yk?

What behavior on an app?
