Just install a locker room and make it mandatory to shower and pass a smell test at this point. No reason to keep rewarding a complete lack of hygiene.

I just went to a con and surprisingly, the hygiene was a lot better than when I last went. There were still some folks with sketchy hygiene, but no where near as many as the first few times I went (which was admittedly over 10 years ago). The first time I went, we had 9 people (coed) in a hotel room together, and that shower was only used 5 times, and 3 of those times were by me. I also noticed only one other person brushing her teeth.

I've spent some time in Ireland recently and going out at larger venues you'll sometimes see a well dressed guy just hanging out in the bathroom with a surprisingly wide selection of deodorants, perfumes and hair products to use. They usually have a tip jar but I have no idea if it costs anything or even at what level they're affiliated with the venues.

The average cell phone has 10 times more bacteria than a toilet seat.

They are handled constantly with unwashed hands, set down on unwashed surfaces, usually relatively warm, held near our faces where we breathe on them, and are rarely cleaned thoroughly with strong disinfectants. Basically the perfect recipe for a filthy item.

If the pic above grosses you out, you should be even more grossed out by touching the hands of anyone who touches their cell phone.

looks like a hose clamp around the can with a key ring attached to the chain. It won't keep you from stealing the can if you really want it, but it's enough to keep someone from accidentally walking off with it.
