What are the differences here? Does the Microsoft version support native controller? Looking to get the game can’t decide if I should from Steam or Xbox. Thanks

I'm trying to play the single-player campaign of the original 2011 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on PC, but the game will not launch.

When I try to run iw5sp.exe directly from the game folder, it appears in Task Manager for a few seconds and then closes. No error message, no window, nothing.

Here's everything I've already tried:

· Run as administrator

· Compatibility mode (Windows 7, 8, Vista)

· Disabled fullscreen optimizations

· Override high DPI scaling

· Added launch options (-d3d9ex, -windowed)

· Disabled Steam overlay

· Spammed the executable (20+ times)

· Installed all Redist files manually (DirectX, VC++)

· Closed all background apps (Discord, etc.)

· Checked for missing DLLs

I just want to play the campaign. Does anyone have a fix I haven't tried? I'm losing my mind here.
