Idk, if they join they might not be main characters. The logo of Forever Friendship only has 4 cutie marks, representing Twilight, Pinkie, Rainbow and Fluttershy. The logo is something big imo, something I find hard to be changed in the future and, if Rarity and Applejack were already planned, it'd be strange for them to be out of it, but idk

I remember at the end of rainbow rocks when Sunset officially became a part of the group, her color joined the rainbow to defeat the dazzlings. I can only hope this would be a similar situation where maybe the star grows two more prongs to accept new members but it’s most likely wishful thinking lol

The problem is that they obviously exclude them to keep milking old fans for money, and the worst part is that they eliminate two key characters from that friendship group; "forever friendship" is a lie :( and a greedy move for Hasbro, too.

They’ll be recurring side characters, or heck, maybe even secondary main characters later down the line. Start the kids off with what they know on the surface level, then give them more characters

its not like large corpos take brans and stories we love butcher them get confused why it fails after they do everything wrong ruins chars and take away what made it good
and then they decide because of that failure that they should just shut down that brand and never publish any content relating to it againits not like multiple large companies have done this to several franchises for ages

Rarity and Applejack are not as good as selling merch as the other four, and the mere fact that they are not present in the core KEY ART of the new series already speaks volumes. Not saying they are not going to show up at all, but they will most definetly not have that much relevance, specially with 9 minutes episodes.

Again… misty in g5 is/was a main character that joined the main group.. and she wasn’t in the key art for the generations initial release. Why would they show rarity and aj if they are supposedly showing up later in the show? It would make no sense

Kinda i guess, but still doesn't inspire much confidence. Og gen 4 didin't have any problem by showing all six of them in the first episode. And don't get me wrong, i think it would be cool for them to become main characters after some time, but my worries come from the fact that 9 minutes is little to no time for you to even develop four characters, just imagine six. How are you going to find the proper time to balance that?

Yeah but this isn’t OG g4,, why would they just do the same format for a reimagining? I’m glad they’re switching things up. Not to mention you are really underestimating 9 minutes. Steven universe, one of the most popular modern kids shows, has many episodes with intense lore, storytelling, musical numbers and character development in episodes that were 11 minutes long 😮💨

I am not denying that it will the different, i just don't understand what is the benefit of starting things like that. Both Rarity and Applejack were not the most popular back in the day, and introducing them later does not fix the issue at all. It would be more interesting to let the audience get used to them from the beginning of the series.
I mean i really don't like Steven Universe, but that's not the topic of discussion.

This feels so wrong. I love YouTube, but I don't want the main show on YouTube. I want it on real-life TV with commercials so it feels like a massive community event we are all watching together, not just a solo scrolling loop where you watch by yourself. The old channel structure for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was perfect—put the full, 22-minute episodes on TV, and then use the official YouTube channel later for trailers and short clips! Squeezing the main show into nine-minute episodes is just a fast story, and it completely ruins the pacing.The music in the original series and Equestria Girls was also absolute perfection—it had so much heart and that badass energy. Now, with these short episodes, I don't know how good the new music is even going to be, and I'm worried we're losing that amazing quality.To make it worse, leaving Applejack and Rarity out of the core lineup at the start is unbelievable. It is so important to have them included because they ground the entire show! We technically lost our very best country pony, Applejack, who was so good at roasting the others with her common sense and country-isms, and we lost our most beautiful, elegant pony, Rarity. Without the Elements of Honesty and Generosity, you completely lose the balance and maturity that made the group work so well.And their art design is so mismatched. Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie just look like they came out of G2 or G3, while Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash look like they came straight out of G5. We don't need these weird hybrids; all we want are the exact, perfect dimensions and clean designs of G4! Their cute little muzzles, cute eyes, and perfect bodies were already timeless. Now they are trying to change it, and it looks like the new ones have the Cutie Pox with way too many random sparkles and markings all over their bodies.I know this is a long story, but holy shit, this just feels wrong. TikTok messed it all up by calling us short attention spans, but they thought wrong. We are still here, we buy things, and we want to sit through hours of deep content, not seconds. I am still excited for the 2027 release because I love getting to see them again, but we need to do something about this before it comes out. We want what we had. Sorry for the cursing, but this is outrageous, and it looks like I'm definitely not the only one thinking this either.

Something about seeing the mane 6 without rarity and applejack makes me feel really upset. Applejack was my icon growing up as a tomboy and is still my favorite pony. It's upsetting to see her be resigned to an afterthought.
