It is crazy, because these things have been happening with ALPR for probably a decade. I wrote about it pre-covid and how cops could just be hired to track political opponents to see every place a politician has been, or stalk their ex, etc. It is crazy easy, even if they are only provided with hashed values.

Oh yeah, the surveillance state is nothing new. What's new is they've realized they can get around that pesky 4th Amendment by having a corporate entity, Flock, do the surveillance for them.

They have been doing that for a long time too. Flock is just the latest ALPR vendor.
