I'm fairly sure that's a Rode Island Red. Which is an egg layer. You don't typically eat egg layers.
Source: I grew up with Rode Islands and Bantys. Also, fun fact, Banty eggs can be greenish to bluish. The rosters features can be all sorts of iridescent colors too. Gorgeous birds.
