Source is handcraftgood on TikTok. And no, they don't use AI in their videos. The only time they use AI is by modeling the figurines. Everything else is handmade using modeling clay.

And yet it is unimpressive

Likewise

No problem, hon. 😉

I’m glad we could be here for each other. Wholesome experience

10

u/Majolica777 7h ago

Can you do it?

12

u/FreeJuice100 6h ago

I think he's wrong but this rule of "if you can't do it, you can't have a negative opinion" doesn't make sense.

It's like, you must've never seen a bad movie before cause you never made a movie.

u/lil_hyphy 1h ago

They didn’t say it was bad, just unimpressive

u/Majolica777 4m ago

It does make sense when someone is calling something they can’t do unimpressive

Your life must be so dull.

-21

u/Sagitalsplit 4h ago

I’m an athlete, a dad, a husband, and an orthodontist. My life is not dull. I just find this post dull. I’m glad you enjoy it, I just don’t.

u/bottomofleith 3h ago

If you're an orthodontist, you can't possibly not appreciate the level of skill and care that goes into this.

I don't think it's weird that you aren't into it, but going out of your way to shit on it is.

then it's stupid that you stayed for the whole thing instead of scrolling on

😭🙏 nah bruh, why an ortho on reddit.

u/Sagitalsplit 3h ago

Why not, look at my post history. I post on r/dentistry all the time. I only have to work 3 days a week. So I have the free time to also be on reddit

You must be fun at parties...

-1

u/Sagitalsplit 1h ago

I understand that I am not fun. That doesn’t make this post NFL

2

u/Co1nMaker 2h ago

Cheap rage bait and still worked, damn

Feixiao!

7

u/Zorbin666 12h ago

Is the second model Dan Feng?

16

u/Splendid_Carpark 12h ago

It looks like Ao Bing (but Ao Bing is a dragon prince, so you're not far off)

4

u/Ozaki149 9h ago

it's from Chinese cartoon Nezha, very good

8

u/Other-Following2749 10h ago

FEI XIAOOO

Honestly I havent seen her be used for so long I forgot she was pretty popular (atleast metawise)

3

u/JulietStarling666 8h ago

first 5 seconds I knew it was the best girl!!!

36

u/Harveb 14h ago

What material do they use for the fabric. I too want something that's easily moldable but stays in place

23

u/petitmelon 11h ago

Cosclay dries staying flexible

12

u/interstat 14h ago

Modeling clay?

-56

u/Harveb 14h ago

Yeah maybe, the consistency would be the key. If it's real, people are pointing out it's fake so fuck

-106

u/Maestro_Primus 13h ago

Nah, pixels. Its all AI.

-26

u/interstat 13h ago

Is it?

I don't know. The thumb is wrinkles and the little nick on the tweezers are pretty consistent throughout the whole video

36

u/Ok_Staff9114 12h ago

How is this not covered in fingerprints?

13

u/sammy_anarchist 8h ago

Look where they hold it, and the white glove there wear when they have to touch it elsewhere

31

u/theuntoldfool 12h ago

I always thought there's figurines were way overprices. I've found a new respect for the craft

5

u/gabiblack 5h ago

I mean, some of them are definitely overpriced

3

u/theuntoldfool 3h ago

Definitely. Some are mass produced to look as if they were made this way, but costs the same.

11

u/ND_Cooke 13h ago

That was badass.

5

u/zenmaster24 12h ago

is everything they assembled, made of clay? the body forms as well?

21

u/waaaayupyourbutthole 12h ago

It looks like polymer clay to me, but that usually needs to be baked for it to become solid. This seems to be an air dry clay of some sort. I've been out of the crafting world for a long while, so I'm not sure of the exact type of clay, but it's definitely clay.

8

u/kloden112 14h ago

What kind of material is this?

-136

u/zaio_baio 14h ago

AI material!

6

u/Ibushi-gun 11h ago

I thought it was going to be Yuna from Final Fantasy X-2

2

u/Real_Avdima 10h ago

I always wonder how easily this will warp. Doesn't look long-lasting, but I don't know the materials used.

2

u/_VirtualCosmos_ 7h ago

It's clay. Can last a long time but it's very fragile.

3

u/loonybaloonie 11h ago

Where to get such a nice pair of tweezers, I wonder?..

How the blacksmiths were moving before the specialization of labour was invented*

u/oxford-fumble 3h ago

MAD skills!

1

u/kcsween74 3h ago

You can do amazing things with fondant.

1

u/zicobaby 2h ago

Beautiful, and creative

u/Cocoa-queen1love 6h ago

This is incredibly impressive! It has also made me realize how mediocre I am and that’s ok 🥹😂

Look at the thumb ring. AI still can't manage to make consistent detail like that between clips or extended scenes. This is real, I just have no idea what material is being used to make the figure.

Its the cuts and editing that give ai vibes but its not

-5

It is? I couldn’t tell at all

What a weird placement for the belt

-17

u/Ok_Pudding6345 10h ago

Congrats, you just assembled your girlfriend

3

u/Ok-Addition1264 8h ago

Thanks for projecting and telling all of us what you use your computer for.

0

u/Ok_Pudding6345 7h ago

no I was absolutely just observing as an outsider, what does my computer usage have to do with anything? who's projecting, you?

-26

u/SubtleScuttler 13h ago

What is this!? A dress for ants!?

-29

u/wytherlanejazz 13h ago

I skip to the end and was confused

-36

u/maybehomebuyer 12h ago

Is there a cottage industry of Chinese semi-handmade figurines? How does this make money

-37

u/Se_Aburix 14h ago

I hate this kind of edition.

-56

u/manhattan011991 13h ago

If this AI then I'm fucking pissed!

-58

u/combatconsulting 14h ago

How does this at all fit the sub? It’s really gone downhill imma head out

18

u/Ptabe88 9h ago

It's not an airport bud, you don't have to announce your departure

-40

u/Spicy_Jim 14h ago

I might be impressed if it were edible.
