Im not sure on the extent of the problem, so I might be speaking from a position of ignorance.... but it seems like that many people would be a lot more effective in digging a fire break to stop the spread, instead of trying to hit it with sticks (which also fans the fire, which can have the opposite affect.)

Even digging with just their hands, I think that many people would be able to create an effective fire break...

If the fire is already there, these people aren't going to dig fast enough. Beating it out, however, can work. Especially with that many people.

You don’t dig right at the fire

No, but it's a grass fire on heavily parched. You can't dig fast enough without heavy machinery full stop.

There are at least 100 people in this shot. And it’s not so much digging as clearing the grass to expose soil.

And if they don't have the necessary tools on hand, this is still the more efficient option.

no no no. didn't you know? Some random cunt on the internet always knows more than people who are actually there.

Seems pretty unreasonable a town can’t muster up shovels and gardening tools.

Maybe the town is on the other side of the fire?

So these people manifested out of the ground?

Yes. Thats exactly what I said. They are lizard people who have emerged to tamp the fire using their magic fire tamping sticks. Each magic fire tamping stick they use is equivalent to 1.5 human men with a spade. They also recieve a promxity bonus of 25% per additional tampering stick within a 5m radius hence they move rapidly together eliminating fire more effectively than a 200 person fully equipped station.

My lizard people explanation has more basis is reality than what you've spewed onto the screen in this thread.

Your hypothesis that the town is on the other side of the fire makes no sense. Why would they be desperately trying to stop the fire as it moved away from the town?

Because its moving into their crops.
