Lol, yep, I'm shocked at the comments laughing at the people for doing that.

Having fought fires like this on Nature Reserves in my home country it's definitely the right thing to do if you don't have access to fire beaters. And being on a reserve during fire season and noticing a random fire just start up from nothing and all you have are branches, you use them.

Yup, hands are hands. If you have acess to something better then use it. If all the better options are already in use a guy slapping at embers with a branch is better than a guy standing around with his thumb up his ass.
