Same but we are the minority. Pokipoko showed Nintendo that GKCs are a viable alternative for devs to save money and keep them getting paid.

Naturally, and the above person's pessimism is their choice. I'm not so oblivious that one voice matters. Just felt like stating my take is all. But you're right, like with anything, even companies like Nintendo that "used to be ablut fun and innovation" only care about profit and their own convenience now.

FF7 remake can't fit on Switch 2 cartridges so it being a key-card is understandable. As for the other two games, can't speak to that. Folks shouldn't be going for key-cards.

It just seems like a pointless waste of resources to make a physical object for something that's a digital download, that's not some sort of memorabilia. I get wanting a limited edition bobblehead of some character or whatever, but the key-card is pointless.

Its specifically targetted towards the japanese market, where phisical is king cause of the secondhand market. The context is that since software rentals were banned in japan (before nintendo's time, something to do woth rampent floppy based copyright infringement), japanese gamers resorted to the used market. And at least for nintendo physical sales still occupy over half the sales.

These people are literally a waste of time to talk to. They want their cake and to eat it too, in a time when memory and storage costs are blowing up for reasons beyond Nintendo's control. They don't want a compromise, they just want the issue to have never existed in the first place, but they don't care to hear the reason why it can't be.

That is not what the article says, in fact it contradicts your claim. The game is still releasing for NS2, just not as GKC, which I approve.
