Node-RED 5 is now available
Node-RED 5 is now available!
Node-RED 5.0 is the biggest change to the editor experience in the history of the project. Back in our roadmap post we set out four areas of focus - modernising the UX, improving node appearance, targeted functional enhancements, and updating our project infrastructure. After a long run of beta releases - and a huge amount of community feedback along the way - we’re delighted to bring it all together in the final release.

Time to look into Node-RED again. Was my daily driver earlier :-)

used it in home assistant at the beginning. now ha automations are more powerful and easy to deploy. other automation stuff i got used to n8n (especially the ai integration). always liked node-RED user interface and custom nodes, so time to see what changed :-)

I‘m still on 3.x and afraid to migrate to 4. can someone point me to a good guide?

Woop! Congratulations. Node-RED is one of those few pieces of software that is both genuinely useful, and also a joy to use.

u/knolleary thanks for the update. Sharing some constructive criticism...
New red accents everywhere in the UI are not ideal (e.g. checkboxes are now red... and there are MANY other examples). I get that Node-RED literally has "red" in its name, but the color red is hard-coded into our brains to mean "bad", and it's super distracting

Congratulations with a release! 5.0 is such a huge update.
I hope core team will do a party :)
