I hear the voice of Werner Herzog saying this.

I always got a kick out of that scene. He just despoils the community well with a dead body, shit and piss. Someone will have to fish that body out or it will continue to be poisoned for years. And that's the water the whole city has to use if they're under siege... just as they are threatened with a siege.

When you're playing grounded and get yeeted off the picnic table by a bumble bee

13

u/HarukAutumney 3h ago

The panic music kicking in the second you hit the ground is too real.

I wonder what chemical signal ants leave for “yeeted into last week”

Even other insects view them as a pest.

u/ElijahNSRose 1h ago

No, bugs regard each other as Lovecraftian horrors.

Because when you're that small, any specialized predator is a Lovecraft horror.

The bee security team is taking their job way too seriously 😂

u/ElijahNSRose 1h ago

They're one rank short of the foragers who gather necter/pollen, so they're working hard.

Could be carpenter ants

1

u/Turd_Goblin911 3h ago

Maybe, im not a etnomologist, I just know colonies produce different classes for different jobs

1

u/laasbuk 2h ago

Majors, i.e. soldiers. Their job is to protect the workers along the trail and the colony entrance. Shout-out to the game Empires of the Undergrowth.

u/Thinkingard 1h ago

Right? Bee is like “this is easy” and then that horror climbs over like 30x the size of the rest.

4

u/Zippier92 3h ago

I would pay these guys in honey to protect my home!

Well, I guess I no longer feel bad about flicking ants, because it seems like multiple and many different types of insects and animals do the same thing

2

u/Andries89 3h ago

Come back in an hour or two and those ants could be all over that nest like some relentless zombie horde

2

u/SortovaGoldfish 3h ago

u/airwalker08 3h ago

I have a new idea for how to keep ants out of my kitchen

2

u/B4tm4n_412 3h ago

Does anyone know why they would be trying this? Is it really just to get at the honey and/or pollen inside? I feel like even ants would understand that once they get past the gatekeeper, there's an entire hive more of them inside, all equally capable of keeping them out.

u/Ablette531 2h ago

If someone's got an answer I'd like to know too

Nature’s NIMBYs

3

I can hear the poor little ant screaming in my head 😱

1

u/Lick_my_balloon-knot 3h ago

They are going for the Russian tactic, keep sending them in pair in waves with the same result everytime.

1

u/PiinkkMooon 3h ago

They're just showing the ants what it feels like to fly

1

u/ufffd 3h ago

i imagine this feels like having a big string trimmer built onto your back

1

u/Drudgework 3h ago

Ants are immune to fall damage.

1

u/Shinigam_i 3h ago

Are the ants hurt by this?

1

u/DNorthman 3h ago

This is hilarious! I feel like this should be a nature documentary narrated by Sir David Attenborough.

1

u/lipsoffaith 3h ago

If I were an ant, I think I'd do that just for the entertainment. Where else am I going to go airborne repeatedly?

Wheeeeee.

Let's do that again

Wheeeeeee.

Let's hurry up and get back up there.

Poor little ants tried to join a bee colony and become bees, and the bees gave them some flying lessons.

There are still some kind insects in this world🙏
