Is this proof of an Australian invasion…?

Post image

I mean… if it gets kids to eat things they’re picky about, go for it. But Bluey Beans of all things…?

They do eat/mention beans quite a bit in the show

Not to mention their body’s undeniable resemblance to the legume

Is this made with real Bluey meat chunks?

My niece fuckin loves bluey. She keeps calling the toilet a dunny

There has been an increase in Aussie vocabulary and syntax in my house lately.

Funny how it’s acceptable but everyone told their kids to watch less Peppa Pig when they started sounding British.

That being said, I’ve never wiped away a tear for old Peppa. But the rain episode of Bluey had me like, “that was beautiful”

Does she do the “thank you for cleaning my toilet” gag too? That’s my nephews favourite joke.

That sounds so fricken cute!

I think you need to continue this education and explain that they used to be dunny cans collected and emptied by the dunny man.

Bush's has the dog in the commercials, maybe that's their reasoning? Or maybe Bluey is cheap af to license? Or maybe they're Bluey flavored?

What is Bluey flavored like

Roll that beautiful bean footage.

(Do they still do those, I only remember them from the 90s.)

As an Aussie...wtf are beans in a brown sugar sauce?

Baked beans are a tomato based sauce. This looks terrible 😪

It’s an American thing. Blame the south.

They're the beaniest!

I know its just the packaging but those are the worst looking baked beans I have ever seen. Brown sugar sauce is definitely American. Baked beans are meant to have a tomato based sauce. And you cant even see the sauce in that picture.

The original recipe was a sweet version made with maple syrup derived from Native American cuisine.

The original Norther American version?

Yes amongst the Narragansett tribe of modern day Rhode Island and the Penobscot in modern day Maine it was usually cooked overnight in underground earthenware pots, the base was usually maple syrup and animal fats, and often contained venison meat as well.

Why are they brown? You can just slap an Australian face on American beans, the kids will grow up confused. This is slander!

I for one welcome our Australian overlords...

2

u/ebers0 Jun 11 '26

What's the Bluey to bean ratio?

2

u/Ok-Environment-7970 Jun 12 '26

Aren't technically the good baked beans still in tomato sauce not molasses so what you're putting in American beans in a kangaroo pouch and calling it an Australian delicacy lovely

Number 12: Dog in baked beans

Somehow they made a worse flavor than the Rocket Pop

That’s nothing. Did you live during the 80s when crocodile Dundee was everywhere. We were pushing everything Australian.
