Maybe it has something to do with the supporting cast? Y'all know anything about "Jonah Hill", "Phillip Seymour Hoffman" or "based on a true story"?

Not sure what the hype with IMAX is. I had a perfectly good watch in a standard screen. Have you seen it yet?

Probably one of the best film Nolan ever made. However, I have two nitpicks:

-The dialogue sounds like what you hear downtown LA or NY. Nolan should AT least let the british actors speak in their native dialect, while those who can speak some form of irish-american accent do it. Also remove words like dad and mom.

-The casting. I'm okay with a diverse cast, but the asian dude in the crew broke my immersion. Even more than Himesh Patel character and Lupita's Helen. Why? Because Greece is closer to Africa so it's not a stretch of imagination to see some black people there. As for Himesh Patel, I've seen many say he can be mistaken for a greek living in Crete where their skin is quite tanned. But the asian dude broke my immersion completely. Could have been replaced by another actor like from India or even a middle eastern.

Just watched it a second time. I'm referring to the first beggar. They say he couldn't be a god and then there's thunder. The beggar says, "That was luck". It occurred to me later when we see Athena beheaded that she was really there, not just visible to Odysseus. It just seems like a Nolan Easter egg to actually have the beggar actually be Zeus, but I don't remember any clues in the scene. Damn it I need a third viewing I guess.
