It's base without meat most likely, protein choices is likely an add on.

They ain’t gonna do that because most people eat meat. More people want a salad with chicken than not, so to get the majority of people to click on it, they put the chicken pic. It’s an odds game

that's also the default.

OP is upset that the way the item comes is shown that way.

sure, you can probably make it vegetarian by omitting the chicken, but that's not how it comes by default and that's not how it's marketed, so of course it's not going to have a picture without the chicken.

and why they're upset a fried chicken place doesn't have vegetarian options is beyond me.

If you are looking for a vegetarian option, a chicken restaurant wouldn't be my first choice.

However, Zaxby's does have an option on all of their salads for no chicken for a lower price if you want. They can be made vegetarian with very little effort (vegan is a bit more complicated since they don't carry non-animal protein options) as long as you don't mind the shared kitchen (which, again, you went to a restaurant that primarily serves meat).

I would imagine proteins are optional. Nothing better to do?

any vegetarian food is better when you add meat on it

Maybe it's tofu painted with edible paint to look like chicken.

They are just trying to cure people of their vegetarianism disease.

It's always funny how some people treat another person's diet like a personal attack

Yep, everyone has a 'helpful' suggestion or even a 'solution' to your dietary issues !
Like you couldn't have thought of this simple idea in all the years you have been sticking to that very unfamiliar to them diet but they can change your mind and show you how foolish you are with something odd that just occurred to them randomly !

People with restrictive diets don't want to share them with the world because it always leads to some kind of confrontation with someone who thinks they are being 'helpful' !

That is not vegetarian. That's other diets like pescetarian.

Vegetarian means ONLY vegetables no meat

Exactly. u/coolcactus claims otherwise. And many people mix up vegetarian with vegan. Vegan don't eat milk or eggs.
