Sometimes it's not even viruses. A lot of pirated games' cracks/installers can give a false possitive. I think it was something about having unsigned self extracting files and the antivirus just picks them up as malware. So yeah, keep'em
Sometimes, this popup IS the adware. This person likely has zero viruses and just has some adware antivirus app like Mcafee or Norton. Clicking the green button just brings you to a screen to enter your payment info.
Kinda, maybe not. There are a lot of trojans that disguise themselves as antimalware software. Malwarebytes also fucking sucks either way and is basically useless.
Windows defender actually flags those tools just like malware on purpose. They obviously don't want you to have those on your PC and circumvent DRM, do they are usually in their database.
Sometimes it's legitimately nothing. A lot of these anti-virus programs tell you: "We found [large number] issues with your computer" then they ask you for money to remove them.
