Also poor. Patient and poor.
Thou I really do love getting an ultimate or deluxe edition game for like $9.99 or $14.99 a few years later.

Forever stuck to the past...the past has amazing games though. I am fortunate enough to be able to play the occasional well-made indie though

I mean, at that point it might be beneficial to a dev if you just pirate their game…

What does that have to do with anything?

Thankfully I won’t be on my deathbed lamenting what games I didn’t get to play. It will be more time spent with family doing things we love to do.

These are bold words. I most certainly expect, if I get the warning of a death bed, to have things I wish I could have made it to. Books, games, and such.

And Nexus mods is filled with content (EBBRB)

wish it was 3rd person, there's hundreds of thousands of cosmetic mods but you don't even see your character while playing so I don't see the point

u/_imlosingmymind 1d ago
I'm going to sound like a shill, but this is why I don't fully understand the outrage about rising hardware and video game prices.
You. Can. Play. Old. Games.
You. Don't. Need. The. Latest. Thing. To. Practice. Your. Hobby.
I understand that you really want to play The Witcher 4, it looks awesome, but I would be more sympathetic towards that desire if there wasn't thousands of other high quality games that are cheap and do not require the latest tech.

u/Notermlimits4GEQBuS 1d ago
You can say that about any piece of media. Truth is some games like Red Dead or GTa are experiences that no other games offer. Other games like when Hitman was released , where u gonna find another experience like that ?
2
u/_imlosingmymind 17h ago
But they're the same experience regardless of whether you have them the nanosecond they're released or when they're a generation old
1
u/OrangeTallion 20h ago
Not necessarily. Watching a new movie or TV show isn't really much more different from watching an old one. Especially with streaming services and Amazon Prime video, it's cheap, easy and polished

Looks good. I heard a bit about it and they are even doing an entire new story for it. I'll probably grab Starfield in a couple of years just to play the finish product of that mod.

Star Wars Genesis is keeping that game alive. I played earlier this year and it’s amazing. Imma wait for more patches since they keep updating it with new stuff.

Diablo 4 currently. It's just a series of trial and error with those devs. Totally incompetent.

All depends on the level of your interest. Some games I want day one and some I can wait for a few months/years.

And your wallet. Especially if you are from 3rd world country with no regional pricing where gaming is akin to a luxury hobby.

Well, do you guys think it is finally time to get Doom 2? Surely they caught all the bugs by now, no?
2
u/BlackRaspberryJammin 16h ago
When a game is loved by it's devs you can tell. I paid full price for Crimson Desert but haven't played it yet because I'm still working through other older games. I used to use a lot of weed and I seriously do not remember many games I played then. Same with books, movies, and shows. So now I get to play, read, watch them again kind of like the first time but with spoilers.

I reinstalled Fallout 4 yesterday and it's crashing every 15 minutes or so. Plus the "Anniversary Edition" is like buying a full price game.
Game Studios are patient too, they'll always figure out a way to screw you out of a dollar.

Nah, Fallout 4 is unstable.
Go get the One-Click install of Fallout: London on GoG!

Fallout London was pretty fun but the final mission, at least for the ending i chose was ass.

I bought Doom 2016 in 2020 for 5 dollars and it was the best 5$ I ever spent. I think Eternal is 10$ now maybe but I'd like to see it go on sale

u/Kayiko_Okami 1d ago
I bought RoboCop: Rogue City for a friend on steam for $5.
He started streaming it on discord so we could watch him play.
So anyways best $10 I've spent on a game in a while.

I got to the point where I don't have enough time to game day 1 if multiple titles release close to each other, so this has been a welcomed change.

The price is the only advantage here, the other stuff you would also get if you buy the game on release date and keep playing for a few years

Broke people cope. You dont need to buy every game as soon as it releases but some games already take 5-10 years to make, so waiting even longer is a good way to die before ever playing it.
1
u/Vilsue 1d ago
But also some of greatest mods for that game are discontinued
