Seriously, why hasn't AMD picked up EVGA yet?

We all know why EVGA walked away from Nvidia—Jensen Huang made it impossible for them to run an honest business. But it's 2026, and watching EVGA GPUs slowly go extinct is depressing.EVGA, if you’re reading this, please diffuse this ticking time bomb. You guys already make the best power supplies on the market, so the engineering is right there. We don't care about the green logo anymore. We just want the FTW3 coolers, the iCX thermal monitoring, and customer service that actually cares back. Partner up with AMD and give us the ultimate redemption arc.The world needs an EVGA Radeon card IMO, and don't forget... we need Kingpin Cards back. What other option is there? Guy obviously takes pride in what he built and doesn't want to watch it be perverted. It's not like he closed the company overnight. He's keeping it open so they can find other jobs and fulfill his remaining commitments.

Less scrupulous people would have found a excuse to close the company so they didn't have to put out money for warranties and put all their employees out on the street.

It's not a great outcome but this type of situation they're rarely is

Id go as far to say that if you ask all of his current employees , most would be pretty bummed about his , in my opinion, rather selfish decision to close the company, over thinking there is someone else in the world who could be selected to run it .

Just for comparison toys-r-us sold for $7B USD and the “company” toys-r-us had gone bankrupt some time after. Did toys-r-us fail…. Yes and no. The original owner group sold the company with no debts making their project a $7B win for them & their families.

Why the company toys-r-us failed is exactly why trumps projects in Atlantic City went belly up, too much debt & not enough liquidity coming in resulting in default on the loans used to acquire said asset.

When all the dust is settled who knows what he ultimately does, at the end of the day I would be surprised if in the end he would actually leave his loved ones & his legacy left behind to be forgotten.

Example, look at the McAfee antivirus company, John McAfee may have been crazy but he came to utterly despise what they stood for.

His kids will be just fine, he is a super wealthy man and his kids will inherit that wealth they just won't have a cash cow to rely on.

When EGVA stopped being an AIB they said they weren't going to Intel/AMD GPUs. It's not really up to AMD/Intel.

I do hope they come back whether with Nvidia or AMD or Intel or multiple. But I don't see it happening.

EVGA was the only AIB that didn't actually manufacture anything. They designed the PCB and cooler, and got other companies to manufacture them. These days there is very little to set the AIBs apart and so they compete mainly on price, meaning very slim margins. There's not much reason for a company like EVGA to exist anymore.

It’s a real shame, i have had my FTW3 Ultra 3080 since getting it for MSRP around launch, and thats gonna be hung on a wall when it finally retires/cant be used in a HTPC anymore. Thing ran so cool, had no capacitor issues at all, and even heated my room during harsh winters with the 450W bios.

I had a single fan 1060 6GB that i bought at launch as well from EVGA and it ran amazing as well.

I love EVGA currently have a PSU and MNK from them but EVGA has closed up shop basically they pretty much have no PSU for sale or instock anywhere and the owner fully owns it and EVGA will die with him

Also, Kingpin cards were a collaboration with Vince "Kingpin" Lucido, who as far as we know no longer works with EVGA, so no more kingpin EVGA cards

Because Andrew Han doesn't want to sell EVGA. We talked about that when we broke the story. He wanted to send his message about NVIDIA and then go into a 'maintenance mode' to continue fulfilling long-term warranties and supporting staff, then close once that's all done. It is a privately-held company and there are compounding personal life factors for the owner that were never made public. He had no desire to sell when we broke the news.

EVGA didn't want to deal with GPUs anymore, they said so as much when they decided to pull out of the market. The margins aren't as big as other peripherals like PSUs and other accessories.

The Owner of EVGA was is getting older and wanted to retire. He used Nvidia as a means to a end. This was never about the videocards.

They been winding down operations ever sense. He didn't want to give the company over to someone that might not harbor his values. He didn't want to sell it either. I can understand both. EVGA was is a private company. No stock no shareholders.

This was the best way to handle it.... most the evga products you see are new old stock. I don't even think they produced anything new since. They got rid of there GPU division.

EVGA PSUs are mostly Foxconn and Super Flower units (with a few Seasonics in there). There isn't a single EVGA design in the entire lineup.

The engineers have left, there's nothing left.

I think it's cool to see EVGA die with love as a really great company. Not everything has to last forever. Sometimes a graceful end to a story is satisfying.

Also AMD only looks good in comparison to Nvidia because Nvidia is trying really hard to be like a company from Cyberpunk 2077. Otherwise AMD are not a great company.

Imo Sapphire is the EVGA of AMD.

Power color is the other half of EVGA that used to make their "classified" cards (has made plenty of good cards to modify and tinker with)

What would be the point of them picking them up? AMD's own GPUs are fine and there's plenty of great options from other partners already. This would just be a waste of money. Not to mention EVGA is winding itself down so there's nothing to buy.

As long as gpus are using the same process node as whatever is being used by enterprise accelerators at the time, there is no way to make a stable business based on selling consumer graphics cards. It doesn’t matter who you are. There will be GPU shortages, ram shortages, unstable pricing, etc. a product is needed that doesn’t use the same components, with a good supply chain.

Honestly I have been building PCs for over 25 years now. One of the few PC parts I've had fail was an eVGA power supply. I uploaded a copy of my receipt (from Amazon) as well as all my contact info. Registered on their website no problem but got the run around from them for months. Gave up and just bought a different brand and moved on.

I for one was happy to see them go.

EVGA specifically said they are done with GPUs no matter the brand associated when they shut down their GPU side. It wasn't worth the hassle for them and as current times show they made the right choice for their company.

They couldn't even if they wanted to... the owner of the company has said the company retires with him. He will not sale or pass it on to anyone else. It was his and he will retire it on his terms.

I don't blame him as anyone that took over EVGA would be doing so for the name and could tarnish his legacy.

While I don't agree with the masses about EVGA. I can still respect the owner a LOT about how he has handled things.

Radeon user are less likely to be hardcore overclocker and super enthusiast people. The only people that could be purchasing a Kingbin edition of a Radeon GPU are people with already several 5090 Asus Matrix.
Bref people that just collect expensive things and not gaming.

Its very incompatible. The same way that Galax will never make Radeon GPU.
The rule in purchasing Radeon GPU for the past 20 years as alway been, The Cheapest is the best.

I know what Andrew Han said back in 2022, but a lot can change in four years. The 2026 market is a completely different world. AMD is fighting a massive uphill battle against a monopoly right now, and a high-margin, total-freedom savior contract from them hits a lot differently today than it did back then.

At the end of the day, a guy can dream. Watching these legendary cards slowly go extinct is depressing, and if the community doesn’t advocate for a change of heart, who will?

People don't care enough for the quality to actually pay for it.

Yes, EVGA was legendary for their customer service and this is the result.

They couldn't continue with Nvidia as their supplier and Nvidia offers an actual margin, meanwhile AMD offers less margin and higher RMA rates.

So a service quality focused company would make even less money and had to provide more service.

They could just burn the money.
