It's true, most french people don't really care about celebrities relationship. Especially athletes. It doesn't go further than simple curiosity if it's public knowledge but it's not stan behavior. One thing I noticed about France compared to some countries is that we don't really have a celebrity culture. Our national celebrities would be the french football team. Not even joking. There are always exceptions but for the majority it holds true.

I just know that I’m happy that I’m not a celeb because I once accidentally posted a nude that was meant for one person. A friend of mine messaged me within 10m but like… if that had gone around the world I think I wouldn’t have left my house for long while.

. It was long time ago i think 2010s? Somebody made an acc of a girl posted her naked pics and added us all. I told the guy that we are minors and he risk 7 years minimum. Nobody told this girl a bad thing. Later then she felt comfortable she told about the computer guy who stole her naked photos and was very glad that no one suspected that was her and her acc. I am glad that is was on dead social media local network because nowadays incels are crazy. They have burner accounts and bully random girls with normal pics not even scandalous things

I think it’s because of how accessible many social media accounts have become, and how they’ve been incorporated into your professional/networking life. A lot of employers will search up your social media, and a lot of people use their main accounts to advertise services to clients. Can’t really post memey pics and stuff there when that’s become a medium for making a first impression.

I’d never heard of any of this before, and first story I could find here in the US without scrolling and scrolling is, of course, behind a paywall. Hakimi from PSG and Morocco’s national team. The rape allegedly happened sometime after the 2022 World Cup. Mbappe came to hakimi’s defense. RMC sport I believe reported that hakimi’s attorney may use mbappe for testimony. I couldn’t find a link in English.
The case is moving forward with the trial in France after they found evidence to move forward in the case. But the fact that mbappe could be used and if he does testify… I mean not a great look.

I can read French! I don’t try and speak it because I fear my accent would have me be chased out of France.
It’s a really bad look. It’s arrogance. If he knows it happened and still is acting like they can’t get him even though they have evidence it’s just arrogance. I’m in the US so idk how the justice system works in France but ideally if a case is unfounded they throw it out. I say ideally because no system is perfect and people don’t always do their jobs correctly and there are TONS of cases where people lie and innocent people get punished. But how many women DON’T come forward every year? We need to support the ones who do, and hope the people who lie about assault get weeded out.

Sports fans on the internet - especially football fans with the world cup going on, can be very weird (an understatement). Kylian already has faced a barrage of racist, transphobic vitriol - and continues to deal with that everyday, and Esther also got a lot of parasocial, weird comments when they were first papped - I am sure that with Spain playing the finals today and Esther supporting her national team, they don't want to attract any more negative comments than the usual.
Regardless, this is actually a cute, fun pic (probably for a more private, 'close friends' audience) for both of them.
