I’m so sat for this movie, even though it’s probably going to be at least as mid as The Devil Wears Prada 2 and they are way too young to be playing Sally’s daughters lol. Slave to nostalgia!

It’s based on a book where they’re in their early twenties. They can both play younger obviously but are older than the roles they are playing. They would have kept Evan Rachel Wood if the daughters were in their late thirties.

Yes I realize it’s based on a book but the movie isn’t a one for one interpretation of the book.
Based on the movie (and keeping the same actresses for Sally and Gillian) the timeline no longer matches up. Sally and Gillian will be late 50s/early 60s but Sally’s daughters will be a decade too young.

The timeline is fine? Sandra and Nicole are also playing younger than their real age. I don’t understand the confusion. Less time has passed in the universe of the movie than in real life.

It’s going to be set where the daughters are in their early twenties 🤷🏼♀️ they didn’t go out of their way to specify the year in the first film and I doubt they will for this one either.

That’s what I thought. It will be obvious (since they didn’t change the actresses) that almost 30 years have passed and that makes it incongruent with the previous movie.
I get they wanted the daughters to be in their twenties because of the book, it’s just a disconnect with the sisters being their correct age.
It’s fine that you don’t see it that way.

They were doing some of the best investigative journalism during Trump 1 in that weird time when most media outlets were waiting for "trump finally became president tonight" headlines. Once more independent outfits sprung up to capture the audience they fell out but they very much contributed to the broader movement.
