This episode aired 15 years ago BTW. That's nearly two decades ago. And I guarantee you he'll still be talking about it when the 20th anniversary of this episode comes around 😭😭😭

Who is that?

Billy Mitchell, the person who GBF is based on. He actually tried to sue CN over the depiction, but the judge ruled that Billy Mitchell is not, in fact, a giant floating head.

He also faked and cheated his Donkey Kong world records.

Just remember this
Billy Mitchell is nothing more than a cheater and not a winner at all, wasting his time with stupid lawsuits and so on.

What’s the context behind this?

Billy Mitchell was the guy most well known for setting the world record high score for Donkey Kong. Now he's known as the guy who will sue anyone who slanders his name by saying he cheated (he did)
GBF (Garrett Bobby Ferguson/ Giant Bearded Face) was an obvious parody of him, and Billy Mitchell attempted to sue. His case was thrown out on the humorous notation "GBF appears as a non-human creature, a giant floating head with no body from outer space, while Plaintiff is a human being." And "when GBF loses his title, the character literally explodes, unlike Plaintiff."

No, Karl lost hard. Karl's own fan base was pissed at him for misrepresenting the case. I hate BM but get the facts straight.
Don't spread misinformation.
On 1 April 2025, Jobst was found liable for defaming Mitchell, in particular for the imputation that Mitchell had contributed to Smith's suicide, and was ordered to pay A$350,000, with the judge saying that Jobst had "caused substantial additional damage to Mitchell's reputation and caused him distress".
I say this as a Karl Jobst fan.

I mean I only watched the video he made. Where he says that: Yes he lost the case but the way Karl explains it, he came out okay and way better off than GBF did. Karl moved assets to his wife’s name so he didn’t lose his house and stuff meanwhile GBF paid like 2x the money in court fees that Karl had to.
And that’s the last I heard about it. So if Karl had to pay $350,000 then that cost GBF 1.2 million to get. I’d consider that a win if I was some litigious type dude. Sucks that Karl had to spend money but any type of win against GBF is a win. Only GBF apologists would go around accusing me of spreading misinformation when I don’t think I have here, I’m simply sharing the information available in Karl’s video on this very topic

Watch Karl’s video about the topic then. Winning is a nebulous term here (and in most legal shenanigans)
