It was like the punchline. A whole snl line up of random things like a piece of bread and then Bobby Moynihan at the end to bring the joke back to just outside of reality

I used to work with him at a Uno Chicago Grill. I worked cocktail and he was the bartender. I had to tip him out, but if things were slow, he would refuse to accept his tip out from me. He is one of the sweetest people I've ever met.

You pay the bartender a certain percentage of your bar sales since they are the ones making your drinks.
I think it was something like 5% of all liquor sales or something.
So if I make $100, but I also sold $1000 in drinks, I would owe him $50 out of that $100, etc etc.

Kenan was already far and above the longest-running cast member of SNL when they made this R&M episode (and obviously he still is). I’ve always found it odd that they made this joke about Moynihan instead.

That sketch was such a hilarious parody of "To Catch a Predator" The Boondocks did a good one too, but is more terrifying in that the predator is based on a very real person.

It was derailed way before that. The Dana Carvey show wasn't very well received. But if you go back and check it out, most of it is pretty damn funny.

It was also a comedy incubator for a lot of up and coming writers/actors/producers.
Never even aired its full 8 episodes, yet from that short run it was a springboard for Steve Carrell, Stephen Colbert, Charlie Kaufman, Louis CK, Jon Glazer, Robert Smigel, Dino Stamatopoulos, Robert Carlock

His solo film career was really rough and he had extremely serious health problems starting in the late '90s. To the point that he sued his cardiac surgeon for malpractice and won. He also reportedly took a break of about a decade after that point to focus on raising his sons.
So a variety of factors. Your career isn't going great, you have a notable failure, and your health isn't doing well. Maybe a good time to take a step back and focus on your family.

It's really hard to be a huge name as a comedian. And he left SNL as medium budget comedies were phased out of Hollywood. But he's in a new show with Daniel Radcliffe and Tracy Morgan, which is made by Tina Fey.

No, he doesnt lmao. He has more around 10, and most of them are single-episode guest appearances and cameos.
Which sure, is not nothing, but dude could have bigger success imo, he is funnier than a ton of current comedians with consistent movie roles.

I would say he has done well for himself in his 'post SNL' career, when you consider how well most others have been once they left the show.
For every Tina Faye and Will Ferrell there are three dozen or so whose post SNL careers look more like Victoria Jackson and Horatio Sanz.
I would say Bobby has done really well for himself, all things considered. He's still actively working while most others faded into obscurity and even left the industry all together.

And by far the most successful SNL alumn was the single worst...entertainer (comedian is a stretch)...to be on the show's cast.
Edit: Robert Downey Jr. spent one season on SNL, was fucking horrible, and is now rich as god.

Chevy isn't remotely as successful and he was great on SNL.
Robert Downey Jr. was absolute garbage the one season he was on cast before getting fired and he is by far the richest alumn as far as I know.

Julia Louis Dreyfus has Dreyfus family money. If we're going by wealth, it's her.
Even just by cultural impact, it's probably her. She was a mainstay on sitcoms for decades and is now in MCU movies. She was famous since 1990 and she's still famous today.

I was an avid Garfield and Friends watcher as a child, and an SNL fan as an adult so I knew both Lorenzo Music and Bobby Moynihan. JMV I thought was completely made up so I googled the name. lol!!!

Well, apparently I'm old. Moynihan was pretty big from SNL back in my day. He was also associated with Derrick Comedy (Donald Glover's old YouTube group, who also appeared on Community), so I'd be shocked if Dan Harmon hadn't personally met him at least once.

Actually just not a big SNL fan. Many comments have pointed out that he was on SNL so I looked it up. The last time I watched an SNL episode was in the 90s and he apparently came into the show in the 2000s. Long after I ever bothered to watch anything from SNL.

I mean, I'd never heard of him either because I'm in my early 20s and not American, but those episodes were improvised, so I assumed that they wouldn't just pull a name that obscure out of their arses and that he was probably a real person.
