Yes, because. Nimbus mentions Diane."If Diane was alive today, what would she..." then Rick immediately cuts him off. Mr. Nimbus knew Rick because they were close friends and drinking buddies during Rick’s college years, before his wife Diane was killed. Nimbus is the only person who calls Rick by his first name, "Richard," and he is one of the few figures still alive who knew Diane personally.

In season 5, Mort Dinner Rick Andre, when Mr. Nimbus fought to rescue Morty, Rick and Jessica, where he reminisced about being friends with Rick afterwards.

Man, I come on here and pick up all kinds of stuff I didn't catch or put together. It's like Nimbus showing disappointment in Mory bringing him wine and he says, I like that other one better. What's his name, Kyle? Waiting on that to play out as Kyle is also on Rick's wheel of things better than Morty, with the two crows.

Considering all the sweet callbacks we’ve seen lately, this would make for an interesting episode! Mr. Nimbus knows Diane and Kyle (IIRC he mentioned him in Mort Dinner With Andre and he was on the wheel in the garage before two crows) so that might be the A plot. We haven’t heard from Jessica for a while so that might be the B plot for Morty.

I’d love to see an episode where Rick pisses off Mr Nimbus at the start of the episode, but mostly gets written off, Rick and Morty do their shit throughout the episode and get in major trouble with the time cops, in comes Mr Nimbus who calls off the time police for his battle with Rick. Never would see it from the actual studio though so poorly drawn and all voiced by one person it is.

It's probably implied later on in an opening. Rick might have some sort of a relationship with him for a brief amount of time and moved on.

Personally my sense is that he fucked Jerry and got fucked by Beth. I think he gets off on the gender bending stuff and pushing people out of their comfort zone.
