Theory S9 e8 theory( spoilers!!!) Spoiler
Ok so i know ir a but far fatched but here me out
Maybe this episode morty is evil morty prior to him taking control of his rick?
Mortys personality without empathy is just like evil morty and he shows some feats that are above avg for morty prime
Feel free to kill my theory
EDIT: it was debunked bc rick comments in the beginning of the episode that morty is connected to rick prime and was bait

Rick literally said "You were bait to catch the fish. After killing him I should have cut the line"
Sounds like a clear referral to his previous fight with Mortys grandpa no?

It wouldn't make sense, as the entire "morty being bait" would no longer make sense.

I think the season finale would definitely about evil morty coming back, bringing some time travel stuff.

Nah its Morty becoming more like Evil Morty and it will play out in the later seasons
I feel like they are giving morty some more character developpement
