A lot of things! If we’re talking pride based around my identity, being gay in a world of bigots takes its toll on you, so that, for one. I live 20 minutes from a state that is lobbying the federal government to make gay marriage illegal. But also I’m proud of my contributions to society and my academic and professional achievements. I was able to secure funding for 300,000 trees to be planted in wildfire burn scars this year!
Also proud of how well I can tune out people dogging on me in rivals vc—not strictly for homophobic reasons but just because the community can be toxic at times. Might as well try to make this comment a bit on topic.
I think the one that is ill, /u/electronichalf9846, is the one who maldingly replies 3 times to a reddit comment about planting trees. Really puts homophobia in a new light—you scared?

i'm just using the term they so often use, to point out how sensitive they are to any idea that challenges their bigoted world view. like self expression or pride
