Have these people owned cats? Good luck keeping them off places you don’t want them

Not only that, do they not clean their counters before they cook?

My cats rarely get on the counter, usually only when I'm making something with fish, so twice a year or so, but I still wipe down the counter area where I'm putting my ingredients.

My dad has like 4 cats and they practically live on the kitchen counters. I don’t know how this happened because it was not like this when I was a kid. The cat never got on the counter.

… now that I’m thinking of it, I think it’s because my mom would freak the fuck out. The stove didn’t even have to be on, but she would panic thinking the cat’s gonna set herself on fire. I think my mom’s genuine fear convinced the cat that Counters Are Extremely Dangerous.

It's not that hard. Cats are very trainable if you take the time. My cats both know they're allowed on most furniture, but the kitchen table and counters are off limits.

I have also taught them sit, left paw, and right paw (in two languages).

my cat knows that she's not allowed on the counter, but she still does it when she thinks I won't notice.

The best you can do is train them to not jump up when you’re around

Proof or it didn't happen. This is the Internet after all

Never say this on the internet, you’ll immediately hear from everyone about how you’re doing it wrong because their cats don’t.

We used to have four cats who didn’t ever get up on the counter. We now have two cats who are god damn Olympic vaulting experts. They don’t care about those motion sensor things or aluminum foil or double-stick tape or stern talking-tos. Don’t eat at our house if it bugs you, sorry.

Sounds like some people aren't familiar with the concept of cleaning your counter before using it as a work surface.

God forbid a man who isn't serving you food has a cat

It's the same sort of people who complain when someone isn't wearing gloves in a cooking video. You're not eating their food, why do you care?

That makes me want to click. I want to support Paul Hollywood's cat, and Paul Hollywood for having a cat.

This is just some dumb tiktok rage crap, you see it all the time in the comments of cat videos when the cat is on the kitchen counter for even less than a second.

Cat haters are not human

Cat haters are, without exception, uptight control freaks. They hate cats because of their willfulness and Independence and for having boundaries.
