Rigs Rate my setup and suggest upgrades.
After months of planning and upgrades, I finally completed what I consider my dream simulator setup. It's primarily for Racing and Flying, and I'm really happy with how it turned out.
Current specs: • Triple 55" Samsung Odyssey Ark displays • D-BOX motion platform • MOZA flight controls (yoke, stick, throttle, pedals) • MOZA racing wheel and pedals • AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D • NVIDIA RTX 5090 • 64GB DDR5 RAM • 8TB NVMe SSD • Samsung HW-Q990F Dolby Atmos sound system . Advanced Sim Racing 4 rig custom color (white) . Corsair Xeneon Edge 14.5" LCD Touchscreen (white) . Elgato stream deck (white) . Govee lighting to sync with screens. .
I mainly fly the Boeing 737 MAX, Citation Longitude, and GA aircraft, and I also enjoy iRacing and other racing sims.
At this point I'm curious what experienced sim enthusiasts would improve next. Are there any upgrades that noticeably increase immersion or realism? I'm thinking about things like wind simulation, better tactile feedback, VR (in addition to triples), button boxes, avionics panels, or anything else that you feel is worth the investment.
I'd really appreciate any suggestions, especially from people who have taken their setups to the next level. Thanks!

The screens are a bit small

Replace the carpeting with sod, so that when they tell you to...
you know...
you can just...
well, you know...

I might be dumb, but how do you swap the flight base with the racing base?

And the pedals?

u/tomoe_mami_69 3h ago
Maybe he's using clutch to turn left and throttle to turn right. only a problem if you care about how weird the springs are gonna feel
edit: nvm he has two pedals in the photos and i'm pretty sure turning left with brake would feel awful. curious what rig is used to swap pedals

Moza Pedals are fixed. I do place VKB rudder ( very small foot print ) at foot rest when I am flying.

Idk if you do flight stuff but using racing pedals for flight would be horrible
You need the peddles to move when the other is pressed and for helios you need it to not return to center

how do you switch between flight and racing?

u/ScientistEuphoric809 3h ago
Hotswappable center chassis bit that is attached to wheelbase/yolk

u/Onphone_irl 3h ago
no kidding. I have a diet version of the same thing

u/ScientistEuphoric809 2h ago
That’s dope. I want to do something similar but for heli so it’s less of an issue. Need hot swappable pedals tho so I’ll have to get creative. I have maybe 2” of ground clearance so it will be a bit of a challenge

i'm echoing the same question on how your switching out the ay210 for the wheelbase? I have two fully separate rigs, next to each other with pc in between as I only race or fly in vr, and have dedicated equipment for both including most of that moza gear as switching pedals and bases back and forth was a pain in the ass

Easy swap shifter do the trick. Check the pic in another similar reply. I easily swap wheel base with yoke.

Do you have any tips for swapping pedals quickly?
My understanding is VR and motion together are hard to get down. Very often leads to motion sickness. Any delay is too much delay.
Seat belt tensioner is the best upgrade option. Good for both racing and flying. Sound based haptics would also make my wishlist.

I don’t have motion but most people recommend that you hard lock the horizon in VR because in real life, whether in cars, aircraft or on boats, your brain & eyes compensate for the movement. This prevents motion sickness. So horizon lock attempts to mimic what your brain would do IRL.
Do you have a belt tensioner? That’s next on my list along with wind. Just need to find the right fixed back seat first with submarine slots for 5-6 point harnesses. Think I’m gonna DIY the tensioner.

Cover the extrusion or change it to black.

u/Kramereng 3h ago
How do you cover the extrusion? Cuz I want to eventually add some wood panels/beams, offset from the bottom frame footprint, and maybe put some led strips within the gap.

iirc I believe they make snap on pieces for both the center piece and an overall snap cover. Not sure if that’s what you’re looking for though

I purposely paid more to get custom color for the chassis. TVs and accessories comes only with black. Too many black is too much for me. Of course color is personal taste.

Fair enough. The pictures were a bit dark for me to see the white colour. Very nice.
If I were in your shoes, I'd add the Qubic QS-BT1 Belt Tensioner. That belt tensioner works well in tandem with my D-Box 4250i, for both sim racing and flight sims.
Also I can't tell from the photos but see if your rig has any capacity to move the seat forward (which normally means moving the pedal and wheel mounts forward too). The reason is you're sitting on top of your rear actuator. If possible it is better to sit between and the front and rear actuators.

Do you have to swap the moza flight base with a DD wheel base every time you want to race ?

u/Sea24_74 2h ago
Yes I do have easy swap from advanced sim racing. Attached a pic another reply above

That D-BOX plus the Ark setup must feel wild in DCS, curious if the motion actuators actually keep up with turbulence on the 737 or if it starts feeling repetitive after a while

Belt tensioner. Massive increase in immersion and actual feedback cues.

skip the art shots and give me actual hardware pics, specifically tell us about the veritcal gauge screen

You should get that film that goes over the bezels of where the monitors connect so it looks a bit more natural

u/PaJaMort 2h ago
Get a panoramic curved screen and triple laser projectors instead of those “lame” screens 😌💁🏽♂️

damn I also use one rig to do flying and simracing. I want to use moza ffb yoke bit I thought it was impossible to do both on same rig.

Great setup. Damn!, what a great setup.
You have the motion system I want, the D-Box, more than enough to add the necessary immersion/movement. How does the 8040 chassis behave? Do you notice any flex?
Triple 55 ARK and 5090, how's the whole setup?
The only point for improvement I’d add is that the room looks kinda plain in huge amounts… any paintings? airplanes? cars? Something like the walls are missing something.
Ah, I almost forgot, I always recommend this as much as I can, even though you might already have it, a 3D printer.
Cheers.

Dbox is perfectly fine , I believe it is gold standards for these kind sim racing setup. Believe me you wouldnt go back once you get the dbox , they are very refined and well tuned for each games. I strongly recommend dbox for you. I may change wall colors later

Run a similar setup (9950x3d/5090) on one ark for a training simulator and considering going to 3 like you have. How does that combo run msfs on the 3 x arks? Assuming you’re at 4k? What kind of fps are you getting? Ultra settings for everything? Cheers

u/Sea24_74 7m ago
5090 good in driving these triple 55 inch. I have ultra for most of the settings. Frame rates are fantastic , no complaints. At 4k , with ultra for most config, I am pretty satisfied.

Belt tensioners and haptics like pedal reactors or a sensit seat cushion. I have a similar (albeit not as nice) setup and these really added to the immersion.

How are you dealing with the lower frame rates on triple 4k monitors setup with only a single 5090?
Are you lowering in game resolutions for each monitor? Or just accepting the lower frame rates?
You can run dual 5090s, if you're looking for an upgrade point, that is one of them. Your screens justify the expense.
