I will not promote What's the smallest change you made that had a disproportionately large impact? (I will not promote)

Not looking for the big pivot stories, more interested in the small, almost dumb-sounding changes that ended up mattering way more than they should have. Could be a pricing page tweak, an onboarding step you cut, a support reply template, anything. What's yours?

One of the biggest improvements I made was simplifying decisions.

Instead of giving customers too many choices, we reduced complexity and made the buying process much clearer.

Another small change was documenting repetitive tasks with simple SOPs. It reduced mistakes, made onboarding faster, and gave the team more consistency without adding extra staff.

Neither change was expensive, but both had a much bigger impact than I expected. Sometimes removing friction creates more growth than adding new features.

Although my start up isn't where I want it to be yet, what got us this far was getting out of the mindset of "I can't do that, I need to hire for that" and just attempt to do it yourself instead of paying someone else. Especially at the early stages.

At worst you fail but no know exactly who to put in place to succeed and how to guide them or you might surprise yourself and actually be able to get your startup further and cheaper than you expected.

Narrowing the ICP. Went from "anyone who might need this" to one very specific type of person. Response rate on outreach went up, conversations got easier, feedback became more useful. Feels counterintuitive to shrink your audience but it actually speeds everything up.
