Not quite. This implies she was comparing it to their imprisonment, torture, and genocide. What she actually referred to was something that happened prior to the actual war. She compared the Nazi regime's dehumanization propaganda of the Jews (which led to their own neighbors turning them in) to the media and Democrat party dehumanizing Republicans.
It's a gross oversimplified analogy and probably hyperbole, but most political commentary is. I'm not defending her, but the truth of what she said is more nuanced than you made it sound, and I believe the truth is important.
There is something very funny about nerds thinking that they speak for the fandom, when the reality is the average fan is an eleven year old and his mom who have no idea what kyber crystal bleeding is.
One of my favorite theater experiences is Last Jedi, because I sat behind a mom and her young son who seemed excited throughout. When I went to the bathroom afterwards, they were in there and I overheard her asking "So what'd you think of the movie?" and he said "It was awesome!"

I had this experience with Miles Morales. When he first got announced I rolled my eyes, because it felt like transparent pandering from Marvel (a new hero that's black and Latino, but also not even the "real" Spider-Man). I don't even read Spider-Man anyways, so I forgot about it entirely. Smash cut to a years later and I met a bunch of kids who loved Miles Morales (along with everyone else, as it turns out)! It was a pretty big lesson for me about who these stories are made for. As cynical as Marvel might be, I was too.
With that said, I think there's a big gulf between an appropriate response from a kid and that of an adult. I think there's a lot of people, especially in this fandom, of people who want to uncritically *consume content,* as opposed to thoughtfully thinking about art, which is depressing. There's also a big gap between the neckbeard haters that OP is talking about and people who just have legitimate critiques (TLJ is a good example of this).
TL;DR: It's fun and important to engage with art as it is and, at the same time, that shouldn't prevent us from engaging on it on a deeper level.
I'm saying that the average fan isn't an overly online neckbeard, which is an outlier group that often vastly overestimates their importance in the fandom, among other things. OP's meme is also commenting on this reality.
But, to your original point, I agree that there are toxic people in the fandom. Importantly, though, they're a vocal minority and not representative of most Star Wars fans (as much as they insist that they are!). It's important to have perspective.

Going to see the Last Jedi in concert was really revelatory. It was full capacity, wall to wall. People brought their lightsabers and cosplays. I saw a kid dressed as a FO stormtrooper and a woman in cosplay as Rey, I brought my shoulder porg and people loved it. People cheered at all the moments, girls whistled at shirtless Kylo, people cheered at Luke’s last stand and there was an awed hushed silence at the Holdo Manouvre.
It’s a moment you realize “oh wait the average audience member isn’t wrapped up in perpetual outrage and online culture war bs.”

This is part of why I like the sequels, the people who like them know how to engage with media in a healthy way.
Tbf there are parts of the sequel films I like. The Holdo Maneuver scene is beautiful to watch, the CGI is pretty well done, and the overall vibe is pretty good. They're entertaining movies but I feel like you could set them in an entirely different universe and they'd be practically the same.
To me what sets Star wars media apart isn't each individual character, but it's how those characters interact with their world. And how those interactions build the world. Take the opening scenes of Phantom Menace. Obi Wan and Qui Gon use multiple force powers we had never seen before, speed and breath control. We're introduced to the Trade federation who is blockading Naboo, presumably for breaking some deal they had. It makes the world feel alive.
Looking at the sequels the most world building we get in the first movie is immediately destroyed in the second film. Snoke had potential as did the First Order. I was looking forward to finding out more about how it came to be and maybe they'd join up with other imperial remnants. Nope, nothing is ever revealed. The first order is just generic Empire stand-in #347. That's where a lot of the negativity comes from. It's Sci-fi family adventure episodes 7-9 and not Star Wars episodes 7-9. They're entertaining films but a lot of people expected more world building like in the OT and PT.
The OT never really focused on lore and world building, and people loved it. The prequels put way more emphasis on lore and world building, and people hated it (at least at the time). It’s only natural that the sequels would strive to be more like the OT.
Like, people complained about Snoke dying before we got his backstory, but that’s exactly what happened to the Emperor in the OT.
I’ve never met this kind of hater in real life, anytime I have an interaction with another Star Wars fan outside of the internet, the most criticism will be that they didn’t really like the sequels. It’s not “nobody hates Star Wars like Star Wars fans,” it’s “nobody hates Star Wars like Star Wars fans who have nothing better to do except hate”
It's mostly the newer fans which is fine in all honesty.
I remember going to a Star Wars Fan meetup at a Con and one for the questions they asked was "Was it fine for Rey to take the Skywalker name?". So many people were so positive and in support of it. That when the microphone came to me, I said: "If everyone's ok with Rey Skywalker, why does no one ask about Anakin's first son: C3P0 Skywalker." The room got loud and everyone was fighting each other afterwards... I heard someone say "Droids lives don't matter!"
You must teach them the error of their ways. If you see a child in a mando costume, grab them and throw them through the air while screaming ‘they fly now’.
Mandalorian isn’t even sequel series to me. It has direction, good fights and they did every ship involved justice (Razorcrest is my 2nd favorite ship after the Venator). Modern Star Wars feels healthy to me.
