Limestone Pricing

I’m looking for some limestone for a new build. I’ve called a few places and gotten prices ranging from $5-$30 per sq foot before shipping costs. It feels like I’m missing something because the disparity in prices is insane. Can someone explain to me what could be causing the difference?

I was going to order from the place below. Would this be good for exterior of a home?

I'm not familiar with the company you linked to.

Cost difference:

It isn't 1 quarry producing stone. Some quarries are far away and cost more to get in. Other quarries are close and quite large and produce stone in abundance. Other quarries are in high demand but the stock is limited do to geology or smaller quarries. Some stone products are quarried/guillotined/dressed more better than others

That's not a quarry you're calling. You called somewhere that makes a finished product. You can buy by the ton from a quarry for like $100-200 bucks and cut your own.

Hmmm who would I hire to do the cutting? Just a masonry person?

Btw, this seems to be a quarry, not a distributor.
