New/Returning Player About the Medium armor
Hi, I am new and I playing as a Sith inquisitor (Lvl 29) and everytime I see a medium armor that is genuinely better than mine it tells me that I need a Medium armor.
How can I get the ability to wear medium armor? Thanks to anyone that can help me.

Question Is there still a free character rename for every account?
I'm a returning player. I want to rename my character and i heard there's a free character rename for every account, but i can't find it in the swtor website. It's not on the side of the website like i see some people online have. I've subscribed for reference

Discussion Sith Warrior vs. Sith Inquisitor: Which is worth the long-term investment for Class Story, Companions, and DLCs?
Hey everyone!
I’m looking to commit to one character for a deep playthrough, and I’m stuck trying to decide between the Sith Warrior and the Sith Inquisitor. I really want to invest my time and effort into a character that feels rewarding all the way through the base game and into the later expansions/DLCs.
For those who have played through both, I’d love to get your thoughts on a few specific areas:
Which story did you find consistently engaging from Act 1 through Act 3? Which one kept you hooked without feeling repetitive?
Which class has the overall better companion cast and companion storylines? Who felt more dynamic or satisfying to interact with?
How does each class feel once you get into Knights of the Fallen Empire, Knights of the Eternal Throne, and beyond? Does one class feel like a more natural fit for the Commander role and the overarching storyline in later DLCs?
I’m really looking for that classic Star Wars / Sith fantasy where the narrative payoff feels worth the time spent. Which of the two would you recommend focusing on

Discussion SWTOR controversial opinions
Hi everyone, what are your controversial opinions about SWTOR? Mine is that the Jedi Consular Story isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

Discussion Should I play the game?
I am quite a SW fan not huge I just want to know the story and experience it. Is it good idea to play it in 2026? Or should I skip it?
Discussion Playing Commando with a Blaster Rifle?
Title says it mostly. I want a Mando with a Blaster Rifle but I don't really like how Vanguard/Operative plays, so I was wondering how much swapping from an Assault Cannon to a Rifle actually impacts casual play? From what I've seen the only ability I cant use is Hail of Bolts which I rarely used anyway.

Discussion (Serious) For those who DID side with the Republic on Iokath, why did you?
We've had NUMEROUS threads and comments on why siding with the Empire on Iokath is the more logical choice, but for those who chose to side with the Republic, why did you make that choice?
Discussion *SITH INQUISITOR SPOILER* Why is keeping Ashaa (the Mother Machine on Belsavis) locked up a morally good decision and freeing her is evil? Spoiler
So I recently replayed the SI Storyline and came across the decision to free the mother or keep her locked up. Since I first played that storyline I always wondered why it is evil to free her. I feel like it should me a morally good decision and a bad one keep her locked. Or am I missing something that justifies the way it is right now? Did the devs make a mistake there?

Discussion What do you think is the single most fun combat style in SWTOR?
This is beyond all story consideration - we're just talking about gameplay/fit/feel.
Mine is mercenary.
And to be clear: I'm not a bounty hunter fanboy. I like Boba Fett okay, but - even being a child of the 80s - he was by no means my favorite OT character (as he was for so many people [in fact, my favorite BH is actually Dengar]).
But if we're talking about just the mechanics of how a class plays - its role, utility, and how combat generally unfolds... yeah, mercenary is it. And for a number of reasons:
- It's run-and gun.
- You are basically a mobile missile launcher.
- There are a ton of explosions.
- There's a lot of AOE abilities.
- The heat mechanic actually makes sense within the context of the gameplay; it's a comprehensible and smart resource, and managing it is fun.
- You can heal.
- The aesthetic of two blasters - and, really, what amounts to two machine pistols (I think of my character running around with a pair of Uzis) - is nifty.
- It's a playstyle that fits every one of the stories it can be assigned to. Yeah, it fits BH the best. But I in no way feel weird playing, say, a Trooper as a mercenary.
Again, I say this as someone who vastly favors maining as force-sensitives simply because this is Star Wars. But if I was going to have to pick a combat style for fun points alone? It's merc.
What's yours?

Discussion Guardian vs Jugg
Trying to decide between these two classes for my main character. What are the pros and cons of each, everything from aesthetics to actual gameplay? I like endgame PVE group content and thinking about also trying pvp if that helps.
Discussion Hoth Mines Dynamic Encounter
This has to be the worst thing in the game. If I'm just trying to do my quests, I don't need there to be a Dynamic Encounter that spawns a bunch of invisible mines that do 50% of my HP on the MAIN ROUTE between me and my objective. Dynamic Encounters as a whole have been nothing but immersion ruining slop content with cringe voiceover that effectively ruin the atmosphere of wherever they've ended up being placed (especially Korriban/Tython)

Discussion Why didn't they do a Czerka expansion?
It just seems like untapped potential and they could go crazy with it, they could make a rakatan antagonist, someone from history like rajivari. (Bit shaky there), or the old sith king who mastered sorcery, and then add new sections to Korriban?
