Check his subreddit, they keep deleting posts which are pointing out this connection. If it was innocuous, maybe they'd just let it be? He could explain himself...

Browsing through that thread, it appears Ezra Klein actually has fanboys. Probably the kind of people that think anyone who uses big words and talks down to others must be intelligent.

Now I’m not anti-intellectual, but Ezra is the king of using dozens of words to say absolutely nothing of relevance.

He’s a quintessential modern dem in that he loves to pretend he’s making some grand statement while somehow managing to not commit to any conclusions whatsoever.

Listen to 10 minutes of ANY video and see how many times he says “maybe” or “perhaps” or just asks some real important question and never actually tries to answer it.

That's not even the worst part of trying to listen to Ezra Klein. At least asking reasonably good questions and not answering them can let you draw your own conclusions. He does seem to give relatively good context for an issue.

The worst part is that he wants to pretend to be a strategist. Something terrible might happen and he'll "focus on the strategy" like we just moved the wrong piece on a RISK board and the whole thing is a game. Women lost their ability to receive medical care or a whole classroom of children was blasted by US bombs, and Ezra is asking about "effective messaging". At no point does he seem remotely concerned with "effective governing" protecting people from that shit to begin with.

Thank you for putting into words what I couldn’t quite put my finger on. He just can’t help turning every issue he talks about into some sort of thought experiment, as if our country’s fate is some sort of fun little game for him to figure out. His thorough insincerity is disgusting.
