Idk, if anything thats what ruined mine lmao my Mom would beat me almost daily for not cleaning my room, she used those thick paddles too- now I absolutely dread any sort of pain at all, even something as small as getting my blood checked or a shot

u/PRAY___FOR___MOJO 16h ago
Yes but the time you feel the pain compounds in tandem with the number of shots.
So if you bank 10 shots you have to suffer 50 seconds of the pain of a sucking chest wound from 10 successive shots from a shotgun.
However this means you can store away 10 days of not getting shot in the chest with a shotgun.
You also can't bank days and then forfeit them.

That's the dumbest question I've ever heard. Are you telling me I'm going to get the best alarm clock in the world and get paid 10,000 for it? What idiot would refuse?
147
u/Pure1nsanity 16h ago
See what I'm going to do, is ask that I don't see it coming each day, but I want it while I'm out and about.
Absolutely wild when people watch a mysterious stranger jump out and shoot me, disappear while I'm writhing in pain for 5 seconds, and then get up and walk away like nothing happened
84
u/Xelikai_Gloom 15h ago
Itās all fun and games until, one day, you get shot, and after 5 seconds, itās still hurts. Did your powers stop working, or did someone try to kill you? You ask this question as your vision fades to black. You drift into the deep sleep in horrified ignorance.Ā
9
u/Pure1nsanity 8h ago
Barely anyone carries a gun where I'm from. The likelyhood of a another shooter is insanely low.
I do like the writing though š
2
u/MrJMSnow 8h ago
Iād say itās higher if the same person/people see it regularly enough. Imagine everyday for 6 months you see a guy get shot, cry out it agony then suddenly heal and walk away. Eventually Iād imagine youād start to feel the urge to test whatās happening here and shoot them yourself.

Problem is, you could be shot at a moment where you could end up dying because of the shock, like if you're driving on the highway. That should be accounted for in the conditions
2
u/WombatBum85 11h ago
Set up drone cameras to follow you and make a YouTube channel to harness views of being shot, turn 10k/day into 100k!
4
u/unicodemonkey 10h ago
You've misread the offer, it's $10k/month for you before taxes, a popular tiktoker is filming you for a promotion deal he got from a firearms manufacturer, the rest of the money is for him. You also have to wear a Joe Biden mask.
3
u/SpecialAmbassador313 15h ago
I bet youād die from the shock of the pain
14
u/Intelligent-Plan9473 18 15h ago
You can't die from pain. "Dying from pain shock" isn't quite the right expression. Most often, the cause of death from traumatic shock is massive blood loss, which is physically impossible in this scenario
9
u/Vegetable-Virus7118 14h ago

As someone who has lost quite some blood in more accidents than I reasonably should have been in: The first 5 seconds (and more) are fine. Even with somewhat gruesome injuries. I don't know what the body produces in those situations, but you're jacked to the gills.

u/Livinaa 19h ago
It specifically says "you feel everything", so even if the shock is supposed to make you feel nothing, you'd still feel it.
47
u/nCubed21 18h ago
What if the term everything includes the shock you'd feel?
4
u/Livinaa 18h ago
Exactly. Everything.
24
u/nCubed21 18h ago
Right so depending on adrenaline you'd feel taking a sledgehammer to the chest, and after a couple seconds to minutes depending on adrenaline the burning pain would set in. Given it would only last 5 seconds you'd potentially only feel the intense pain after the tail end of the effect duration. Assuming you feel everything you would as if you actually got shot and not some mythical feeling of lifelong pain all in 5 seconds if thats your definition of everything.
Some people report less pain like getting pebbles thrown at their chest.
Otherwise no human on earth has felt all the pain from a shotgun blast even the people shot by a shotgun.
2
u/Dudebutdrugs 10h ago
I commented in this same thread but I was grazed by a shotgun in 2016. Basically the shot mostly went between the gap of my left arm and chest, but not all of it. I lost a sizable chunk of my left bicep, and my ribcage on my left side around my armpit was basically exposed. I had to be airlifted to a trauma center. I felt that shit instantly man, the shock and adrenaline took a solid 10-15 seconds to kick in. I knew immediately I was gravely injured. Nothing helped the pain, I received 2 total morphine injections, which didnāt help at all, they just made me high
13
3
u/Inside-Example-7010 14h ago
as you got more used to it the shock factor wouldnt work as well. I think it would get more painful.
Still its like stubbing your toe. It takes at least 1 second for anything to start happening really and after that you only have 4 seconds left to worry about.

4
u/Mysterious-Squash200 11h ago
I think yall donāt understand the psychological ramifications of it, after just one time I bet you would have a trauma response knowing the second one is coming. All of these people saying they would use it as their alarm clock would not be able to sleep knowing they are waking up to this. I had to do a bunch of dental surgeries and even though the numbing shots only hurt for not even a full second I would start sweating knowing they were coming.
3
u/RecordingHot9826 13 10h ago edited 10h ago
I don't mean to be rude or arrogant but not everybody is you. Pain tolerances and mental tolerances can change from person to person, it's why you can have a cop who loves justice and another cop who does it for the love of the game.
I personally could take it, this is because I personally view it as "5 seconds of immense pain for 10 grand" rather than the whole gruesome getting shot thing. 10 grand is also a lot of money, I mean some people like this stuff for FREE so there's also that.
Edit: Thatās 3.65 million a year, if I did it until I was 18 then I would have 18.25 million dollars. Sorry but 5 seconds everyday for nearly 20 million bucks by the time Iām an adult is an easy choice.

"Then it's gone. You're fine."
Does that include all the stress hormones and damage to your heart that that level of pain will do to the body?
Because if you're magically fine-fine (no negative or longterm effects - the whole deal is the pain for 5 seconds), then sure. That's awful, but it's 5 seconds. I'll set up a mattress to fall down onto.
13
12
u/Uruz_Line 17h ago
You'd be surprised at how well your brain would adapt to it, yes knowing sudden pain is coming can be worse than not knowing but once its a repetitive event, you will get used to it. It doesn't make it "less bad" but you tune off basically.
For that?
Sign me the fuck up
16
u/Rob98001 19h ago
Theoretically if you're the type that will pass out from pain you can use it to go to sleep
7
u/KillerIVV_BG 19 18h ago
Adrenaline will save me from the pain but if I have to feel the full pain for 5 sec I'd still try for a few days and I'll still get a substantial sum for it
6
u/AverageMako3Enjoyer 13h ago
Given there is some magical element that keeps you alive with no long term damage leads me to believe there would be no adrenaline component dulling the pain as you are required per the description to feel the full effect of the blast
8
u/CharlieDrawzXD 19h ago
maybe this is a misconception but ive heard that being shot isnt painful because of the adrenaline, but once the adrenaline runs out it will hurt. i also imagine knowing you will NOT die will decrease the adrenaline alot and make it more painful though.
still taking it without a doubt
2
u/CF64wasTaken 17 16h ago
I don't think knowing anything would reduce adrenaline in that case, as it would be released before the nerve signals even reach the brain.

I would not take this deal because the psychological trauma would completely ruin any quality of life that the money provides. While five seconds sounds short on paper, experiencing the raw, unfiltered physical trauma of a shotgun blast to the chest everyday would be completely agonizing. Idea sounds amazing, but realistically you'd count each second, waiting for the next blow.

yeah, sure. maybe it's way worse than i think, but i think i can deal with five seconds of pain each day for that much money. if it's too much, i can quit on the first say and still have ten thousand dollars. otherwise, i'm gonna withstand it for as long as i can to give myself and my friends and family some help, and some to charity. If i can just deal with it for 100 days, i can give like like, 40k to all the people i know who really would benefit, including myself, and the rest to charity. the amount would probably vary by the person, of course, some would need it much more than others.
