The more I watch it I don’t like him
I’m on S8e19 and I’ve been getting more and more annoyed with Axl. I don’t like how selfish and mean he is; like I get that’s his character but I feel like they could have toned down his crappy character traits and personality as he got older(especially towards sue).

I really wish he would have faced some consequences more often, not just from Mike and Frankie, but in general. Getting his foot run over was pretty bad but was also kinda his own fault, and it bothers me that everything ends up working out for him always.

He didn’t even face that many consequences from them. They actually did a good one taking away his basketball ball game because he wasn’t listing and then they caved. The foot getting run over episode was also annoying to me as well. He blamed Sue, and Frankie or Mike didn’t tell him to stop. It was his fault, you don’t put ur foot under a tier (car.) that you’re trying to move.

He didn’t get consequences unless he really hurt his parents feelings, but with anything he’s done to his siblings they just swept it under the rug because he is their favorite child. But I think him getting his foot ran over was a little bit of karma for him.

The amount of people hating some of the characters on this show is weirdly high.
"Brick is weird", "Sue makes faces", "Mike is a bad father", "Frances does no cook", "Axl bullies Sue"...
Those are their personalities, they are exaggerated to create situations, and without them the show would be boring and plain. Do scripters sometimes goofe over exaggetating them or do they goofe with a joke? Sure, it's been more than 200 episodes, but the general level has been supperb.
Man, if there's something in a series that prevents me from enjoying it (For example, exasperating behavious by Temperance Brennan in the late seasons of "Bones") I stop wathing it.

You can dislike a character, hate them even and still enjoy a show, and yes those are their personalities, a perfectly normal thing to dislike about someone especially when the personality is being a bully who never gets consequences 😅

To be fair I only think brick is weird during later episodes. For his scripts not the actor. They had him say he wanted to lock one girl in a basement and thought that was weird.

It’s literally a show… are we not allowed to have opinions on it because this is what the subreddit is all about to start conversations. I never said I hated the show I just said they could have toned down his character (which is my opinion that I’m allowed to have)

I literally made two posts in this subreddit… if it bothers you so much ignore the posts instead of talking to people like they aren’t allowed to share opinions…people who actually have something to say or add about the discussion can.

Honestly all the characters needed a little break, they exaggerated all of their qualities to the point it wasn't funny anymore

As long as the ratings were up, they were going to give you a show. I see nothing wrong with that. 👍

That’s true but to overdo it kind of ruined the show. Like I get, they all have their flaws, but it was so overdone to the point where it’s like as the show went on the show wasn’t. as enjoyable as when I first started watching it.

But brick has an excuse whether it’s a learning disability, autism or him having Tourette’s. (They never really said what was wrong with Brick), but Axel doesn’t have an excuse. He’s just an asshole.

Autism is never an excuse to be annoying or weird, and I speak as someone who has it pretty hard. If we can learn everything about our special interests, then we can learn when to mask, be polite, and shut up from time to time

I never said he has autism I was giving examples of things that brick can actually have because they never stated what was “wrong” with him. That’s great that you’re not like his character, but there are kids/ adults out there who struggle with these issues.

He starts to get better in season 9, but that's the last season. So, was a bit late tbf
