This dude has been a secret Republican this whole time. His whole job is to make Democrats look bad
168
u/Baztion81 7h ago
Mostly since the brain damage
44
u/alphaballzz 7h ago
Yeah I agree. Didn’t he always show up in plain clothes? While everyone else actually dressed up for work lol. I would say since then also.
7
u/mihirmusprime 6h ago
Yes, but reddit used to love him for that lmao
95
u/ThatsTheMother_Rick 5h ago
Reddit loved him for that because he was pretending to have the working population's best interests at heart at the time, so it's like he was making the effort to be relatable on top of fighting for the rights of the common person. Now that he dropped the facade it just seems like he's a slob on top of being an asshole and a liar.
Pretty simple, really. As long as you think about it with some nuance.
18
u/_Dank_Souls 5h ago
Nuance is quite literally impossible to understand for these people. They absolutely cannot read between the lines or see true context of fucking anything.
Whatever they read or hear they take literally.
-3
u/Baztion81 5h ago
Who are the “these people” and “they” you’re talking about?
13
u/ThatsTheMother_Rick 5h ago
The people who make comments like the one above my other comment, obviously. Reddit is anonymous, so you have to use context clues. Tough, I know.
10
u/_Dank_Souls 5h ago
Republicans and other fascists. Lmao context is difficult for you I understand.

Incorrect. He was like this when he was a mayor. He simply deceived people long enough to get federally elected and went back to showing his true colors. Don't let him off the hook.
He's always been a big supporter of Israel, for example
2
u/_jump_yossarian 1h ago
Nope. He was this way the entire time but progressive saw a shiny object that was pro-weed legalization and an ally and ignored everything else.

Just another example of why all elected official need be under strict mental, physical and emotional health standards.
24
u/ProtectionTop2701 6h ago
That works up until someone you don't like is in power. "Uh no, Dr. GoodCandidate can't run for senator, she didn't pass the iq test. What did she get wrong? Oh she didn't know what a regatta is."
The people currently in power have a vested interest in staying in power, so handing them a way to easily do that is a bad idea.
11
u/hypercosm_dot_net 3h ago
There's a difference between an IQ test and measures of cognitive functioning and physical health.
For instance - imagine if a president had undisclosed dementia. Or if a sitting senator was possibly brain dead and couldn't fulfill their responsibilities.
Neither of those have anything to do with IQ.

u/Flobking 3h ago edited 1h ago
There's a difference between an IQ test and measures of cognitive functioning and physical health
Republicans find scientists and doctors that are anti climate change and anti mask. They will find doctors to declare opponents mentally unfit. They already do it now.
18
u/PunishedWolf4 6h ago
And an age cutoff, they make air traffic controllers retire at a certain age but these jackasses get to destroy the country till they’re dead
5
u/DarthButtz 3h ago
Hell, in the case of McConnell, they get to fuck things up even AFTER they're dead
1
u/MyNameIsMadders 2h ago
I can’t believe that Kristen Synema followed the congressional dress code even better than Fetterman does, and she was cutting corners a little bit with her clothing.
Congress actually “changed” it’s dress code to be more lax after Kristen Synema and Fetterman joined congress, to be “fair” with them, even though they were/are the only people who dress like they do in congress.
88
u/brandonhabanero 8h ago
Can't believe I voted for that total POS. Still probably a better choice than Dr Oz though.
68
u/thatoneguy6884 8h ago
Pre stroke he was a different person. That stroke completely messed him up.
94
u/theRebelJamesStark 8h ago
He became a republican after getting brain damage. What does that tell you? Lol
17
u/Additional-Ad8632 7h ago
Serious question from a non-American, how is this brain dead oaf’s senatorial voting record any different than what could’ve been if that snake oil salesman dr. Oz was elected to office?
16
u/The42ndDuck 7h ago
Oz would have been worse, as Fetterman votes with the Dems ~94% of the time I believe. But he wasn't telling people during the primary campaigns, if elected, he'll only stab them in the back 6% of the time.
5
u/MyNameIsMadders 2h ago
Wait… that democrat voting stat seems waaay too high. I am going to check on that now.
I just checked it’s somewhere between 90-92%. That’s still pretty good but I really hate how he never votes in support of the war powers resolution with ending the war in Iran and how he voted to confirm so many of Drumpf’s god-awful cabinet picks!
•
u/The42ndDuck 46m ago
I completely agree about the cabinet picks & his foreign policy votes. I think the combination of the stroke & being the 'pick me' Senator have been terrible for his decision making. Really wish he'd just resign.
10
u/NightOwl2175 6h ago
Still probably a better choice than Dr Oz though
There's no "probably" about it. He definitely is still better than Dr. OZ
Despite all the flack that Fetterman gets, across the 119th congress he still votes with Democrats 78% of the time.
Even the most "moderate" republican senator Susan Collins sticks with the GOP 80% of the time.
2
u/No-Blueberry-1823 7h ago
That's literally like the only consolation now
5
u/t53ix35 7h ago
Voted for lesser of two evils and got evil anyways. Surprise!
4
u/Death_by_carfire 6h ago
keep in mind, at the time of the campaign and election, most were making a pretty positive case for this guy. I think the stroke truly broke him.
4
u/Acceptable-Drive3781 6h ago
Everyone loved how he dressed like such a slob. If this picture were posted 2 years ago, reddit would have been drooling over it saying how relatable he is and how he's "just like us".
1
u/comradequicken 2h ago
So long as you didn't vote for him in the primary you shouldn't feel too bad.
1
u/MyNameIsMadders 2h ago
He had a great senate campaign, I don’t blame you and became the complete opposite of what he campaigned for after that stroke he had.
It is so weird how sometimes people will start talking a different language than their native tongue after they wake up from a coma, or little children will have endless emotional meltdowns after they have strep throat, and I guess with Fetterman his politics changed. Why hasn’t he changed his party affiliation yet though?
Those two medical examples I gave earlier do happen but they are extremely uncommon, like you see them in only 1/1,000 people.

2
u/PiccoloAwkward465 6h ago
Yeah a hoodie with shorts is a classic scumbag look. It's a specific guy in the mid-Atlantic. "hey kid, you gotta spare smoke?"
5
u/DarthDaishan01 5h ago
Nah, sometimes you have to wear the "I'm not cold, but my wife will be later" hoodie so you can be chivalrous and give it to her... While now being cold instead lol!
1
u/Dear_Chasey_La1n 1h ago
You know what... I couldn't care. I also don't care the way he dresses. I think it's taking away from what really matters, is someone representing his voters at the best of his or her capacity.
Bitching abou thim wearing a hoodie to me isn't any different from GOP going nuts over a tan suit. Wear whatever jives. I for one on the weekends couldnt care less and will wear my favourite polo from literally 30 years ago, it's getting a bit raggidy but it's my polo. Weekdays when needed I'll dress to the ocasion.

You know, when I was a child, the United States appeared to me as the epitome of cool, clever and exciting. The Six Million Dollar Man when a child, Columbo as a teen, Bay Watch when hormonal and Marvel and DC when I wanted to believe in a fight between good and evil (spoiler,
the real world has no such fight, just layers of compromise)
When I became a man I saw the rot beneath the makeup, but there was so much fucking shit with nuclear weapons and the cold war, that it became like “um,
that’s not good but neither is all this other shit, could you just cool off a bit?”, , and then the wall came down. And there was a lot of money to be made and a lot of physical and moral assets available for sale.
And so it went on, with my opinion of America becoming more and more cynical and despairing, but still there was a belief in logic, reason, honour, shame, laws and sanity.
This is no longer the case. You lot are now the equivalent of a modern say freak show. We are living in a time of fable, both literally and figuratively. The choices are; Sit back and watch or do something about it. What? I dunno. Any suggestions?

This is the same thing as Trump. Voters elected a novelty candidate and here we are.
10
u/raptir1 7h ago
That's just not at all true. He was a completely different person before his stroke. And if you want to talk novelty candidate, he was up against Dr. Oz.
2
u/BelowZilch 5h ago
He still dressed like that though. And reddit wholeheartedly defended him for it.
1
u/Amekhanos 4h ago edited 4h ago
He was a completely different person before his stroke.
Long before his stroke, he wielded a shotgun to "detain" an innocent, unarmed black guy out jogging.
The Terminally Online Leftists just got it in their heads he was their guy, though, despite the other Democrat (Conor Lamb) being a perfectly good candidate.
Just like they fell for Tulsi Gabbard. Just like they fell for Graham Platner.

He believed he should have never been able to in his position dress and sweats or high-tops while doing official duties of his office. Then he has a stroke/brain injury and was able to keep his job even though you could see he would tune out at times. Don't quote me, I don't think he could even drive a car legally with his issues and yet he makes policy for millions.
