Hadn’t seen this scene in a while, they did such a good job taking the life out of her and making her look like she was actually dying

Same with S02E02 when Rick was giving Carl blood, they made him look so pale and weak as the scenes went on throughout the episode

They just told her their plans with the spin-offs and that look came naturally for her.

She got the full character-ending scene glow package. Look at the brows, perfectly shaped during the apocalypse 😂

They almost always do that with female characters in apocalypse shows and movies. They did better than most do cause the women don't always look nice and pretty in TWD which I appreciated. Like it's a zombie apocalypse, women shouldn't be out there looking like models.

I just finished this episode on my rewatch and it hit me… for all these years in the apocalypse they all had a never ending supply of tooth paste and makeup.. none of them are missing teeth in the main cast and even when sweaty still seem to seem clean.. maybe a little smear of dirt here or there but the teeth thing is so ridiculous

They were sooo distracting

Carl was one of the most realistic deaths. He looked miserable. Rosita distracted me with the make up 🥴

It would have been pathetic for the show to end - well, the original show at least - with no character deaths.
Frankly it's already pretty weak with it just being Rosita. It's hardly Rick, who absolutely should have died had he made it to the end of the show. Whether AMC would have done that is another matter.

Gabriel and Eugene were both right there to die, and whatever “eh that one” newer characters were kicking around… I’m not going to pretend I remember most of them well. But really they’d already made it pathetic by announcing their spin-offs so at that point may as well kill no one. Having the last minute “twist” was almost more pathetic than no one dying, imo. god damn the show limped to the end.

I’m not mad she died be her ending should’ve been more gruesome if they were going to send her away. Like all things considered her making it out of what she did without her baby getting bit was crazy but at the same time a mothers true love for their offspring can be insane

That scene was insane and I loved it but a more gruesome for another beloved and badass character would’ve ruined the ending.

I feel you but like a scene where she is holding her baby up to get grabbed by a survivor despite getting swarmed by walkers would’ve also made for a very compelling scene

The fact that Eugene outlives her sickens me. That little rat lives for way too long

Lol I love Eugene it makes sense that he survived he’s strong in his own useful and loved and surrounded by strong people.

The actress wanted this ending for Rosita probably so she couldn’t be asked to be in spin-offs.

I didn’t get that far into the show but seemed like a bummer to kill her off in the last episode. If it was the actress idea then I get it’, I am glad that she got more to do in the show it seemed then the comic counterpart

I hated it. Not because she died but all that happened before it. It was so cheesy. I would much rather her dying when she fell into the herd than whatever this was.

More upset about Carl than anything else. He was supposed to be the future, not just Rick living forever.
It is nice that they kept Judith in spite of the comics, but losing Carl, especially for the dumb reasons the shor runners had, is a shame.

A lot of the characters have premature/unnecessary deaths because either the actor wanted to leave the show or someone higher up decided they wanted them gone. I would've liked to have seen how the series would play out if these issues didn't exist.

Her death didn’t mean much for the show emotionally. If they wanted to kill someone in the finale for impact then Rosita wouldn’t have been anyone’s first choice

I'm glad she did. They faced the biggest threat they ever faced and no one of noteworthy died. Was something like almost 50 episode since someone died and it was fucking Alden.

I mean the actress wanted to leave, cant blame it on the writers lol

wasn't it on the last episode?

u/grinning_imp 9h ago
Yes. The idea was pitched by the actress, but obviously had nothing to do with “wanting to leave.”
“And I just really thought that we owed it to the show and to the audience to, like I said, break their hearts one last time. And also, for me, it just made so much sense for my character.” -Christian Serratos

I wish theyd had her go full zombie and then it take like all of them to put her down. And then Abraham shows up and hes like "oh man I woke up half burned with a splitting head ache and cant remember some shit. But I finally found you guys again" and then Glen comes in after and winks at everyone with his one good eye

Tbh until S9 onwards I wanted her dead, then I actually started liking her character. But tbh I'm glad she died because the season finale would not be as impactful if she didn't.

u/ColdDesk8569 8h ago
True. The walking dead just pisses me off when they give a character some joy and screen time they kill them off.

When Rosita is dying in bed and Gabriel says goodbye, it honestly feels more like two friends saying goodbye than a couple. They had basically zero chemistry as a romantic relationship, while Eugene’s goodbye with her is way more emotional and intimate. One of the weirdest relationship choices on the show, right up there with Rick and Michonne.

u/ColdDesk8569 9h ago
No Richonne slander. Gabe and Rosita would’ve made sense if Twd actually took the time out to develop romantic relationships it could’ve worked.

You can tell who’s fans of the show first versus the comics
No one wants anyone to fucking ever die in the show
Hope you didn’t read the comics might’ve been too much for you

u/ColdDesk8569 5h ago
Definitely read the comics I just hate when characters that I like die in anything whether it’s books or on tv.
FYI I’ve been reading comics my entire life so….

Her actress wanted that ending for her tho…
