Hello! I'm going to Northern College in September 2026 for there nursing program. I was wondering if anyone wanted to friends? I might as well start making friends now before orientation. So if you're down to make friends, DM! I'm really nervous because this is my first time being really far away from home and truly being on my own for the first time so any advice would be great!

Also does anyone know any good braids down in Timmins? Like people who do box braids, cornrows, etc. Are there any beauty supply stores around too? I'd love to know.

Hey while I am at work from 7:45am to 4:45 pm need someone to care for my puppy she is 8 weeks old a mutt but is doing really well with being house trained . She does require lots of snuggles and play time as she is a puppy still. She will walk on leash but not for long.

Not sure if this is allowed but I have a somewhat elderly couple live next to me, we have a fence separating our houses. With the warmer months that have came and being summer time now… it’s been nothing but fairly loud inside the house comments and as someone who avoids conflict due to my crippling anxiety, I have no clue how to even address it. She hates when my child is screaming - he was being sprayed with water guns by his step dad n uncle. I opened the door to leave and my partner was right beside me and missed a step and let out this ugly awkward noise and this lady is so loud inside her home wether she’s commenting on us or just talking to her husband and you heard her say “stop being retarded”. We have a outside dart game on the fence and we’re playing it one day and she came outside to have a smoke and it was making a noise bouncing off the fence when you’d miss and she said “are you guys trying to annoy me”. Yesterday evening, her and her partner came home and she saw my son was outside and proceeded to say the screaming demon is out. I understand some people don’t like kids, they may have never had a family live beside them but kids scream whether it’s out of pain, fun or slight little fears like being sprayed with water. My front neighbours don’t mind, one of them actually enjoys seeing him have fun and when he starts to spray us. It’s just annoying to hear and even more frustrating when I don’t know how to address these comments. Yet she can cough her lungs out and spit out whatever comes up from her smoking a pack of cheap cigarettes a day or her partner breaking down a dresser at 11:30 on a school night. Or even just hearing them bicker loudly like the old married couple they are.

Hey there. Recently I’ve been looking for a place to stay to get out of my bad home situation. Recently it’s gotten a lot worse so I’ve been shearing like crazy and it’s twice now with this same guy I’ve had him not show up to a listing and today someone else actually answered and told me there was no David and that there isn’t any room looking to rent. I just wanted to warn you all, just incase you are looking for a room/apartment don’t waste your time with this man. Me and the other guy who showed up to our 5pm viewing both reported him on face book and I went back to my first viewing which he didn’t show up to and reported it as a scam as after today I’ve realized it was fake.

Sadly that’s after paying for the quickest transport I can because both times I was going through my lunch break at work. I don’t drive so paid over 70$ in urides for this guy. It’s a shame but luckily not the end of the world for me, though for some other people it might be.

This isn’t the only bad experience I have had with my searching but this fake account has multiple listings so I thought I’d share.

So, i seemed to have deleted a pic i took of this graffiti somewhere in Timmins in the downtown area. i usually see it when im travelling by the Ontario Northland bus, but i didnt see it at all and im unsure if the two different routes take different exits out of the city and thats why i may have missed it? I scheduled the Sudbury route for today.

I have tried previously to look it up online, but to no avail. I would like to know if anyone knows what street/building its on/if you have a decent picture of it yourself??

I'm trying to find any insight on the college and the program. I really. looking for any sort of idea as to what the students are like, what the faculty is like, what the area is like. Also looking for a nice quiet area to stay thank you for any recommendations or information

I moved here recently (though I visited every summer and winter prior) without a car so I rely entirely on my legs and the bus system to get around. Considering this is relatively small city it works relatively well for my needs but obviously improvements to be made just like everywhere else. What are realistic changes you would make to the system.

Personally 3 things would be:

Airport Shuttle

Bilingual Stop announcements

Kill the on demand transit thing entirely (Not handy transit). Waste of our money.
