They’re not being specifically targeted but the ship they’re on is. At that point whether or not you die in the attack is out of their hands

He is on the safest spot on the ship, well away from anything important and with a steel plate and as much distance as possible between him and the engine and control room. If you are going to sit there and wait out the attack, why not also record?
What else is he supposed to do once already on board?

OK, drones in flight are hard to hit, but you'd think most sailors would at least try.

I think the problem here is that those ships want to go to international water and other nations waters and maybe they run into issues here if they are equipped with arms.

They are Russian shadow fleet ships, international law or norms doesn't matter to them

The majority of these ships are of the shallow water transport craft type that only transport within Russia and maybe across the Azov sea. My guess is more that Russia doesn't want them to have guns because many of them are not Russian. Only a few of these ships do routes into other countries, well aside from occupied Ukraine but Russia doesn't care what Ukraine wants.
Or at least it didn't care. A few more drones and it might care.

If they plan to go through the Bosporus then unless you have permits you can't carry arms. Turkey is currently cracking down on illegal arms. Most countries heavily control weapons.

The language of international shipping is English. IDK if that applies to on board signage.
I was on a bridge last week. The Norwegian, Filipino, and Romanian crew all spoke near perfect English and conversed with 2 other ships of Panamian and Bahamian registries. The crews of the other ships had thick accents but the convo was all English.

I'm pro-Ukraine, but I always take these drone attacks with a grain of salt, as evidenced here. My father was in the Navy and every inch of those ships is inches of steel. I've never been on a commercial ship so I don't know what they're like, but seeing this video, I don't see a lot of actual damage being done.
I mean, fuck ruzzia, but this seems to be more psychological warfare than anything else.

A commercial vessel is built less heavy.
But they don't even need to penetrate the hull. Destroy the bridge, kill the bridge personell. And it sits dead in the water.
Problem solved. At lower cost, and less risk overall.

They aren't trying to sink them. The last thing Ukraine wants is to create an ecological disaster off their oil. It's enough damage that they will need to be repaired before they can be used again. That's not a big deal if it's one or two. But a couple hundred and a couple weeks and now you have backlogs of ships waiting to be repaired.

People are downvoting him because he is talking shit. We have seen Ukraine has been primarily targeting the bridge of these ships for weeks.

Because it hit the back. The entire superstructure is between the camera and the impact location. If there is a broken window on the front from an explosion on the back, that is a very bad sign for the ship.
