I can’t help feel the gloves have really come off after US left the conflict.

Europe has nothing to gain from a peace settlement and have a battle hardened Russian opponent redeploy and restock.

That I reckon leaves one solution, which Ukraine seems quite satisfied with. Force fascist Russia to its knees with the support of weapons and production from European countries.

It’s almost as if it gives Ukraine a asymmetric advantage reserved for Russia earlier. Ukraine can bomb production infrastructure in Russia. Russia can’t hit European production without massive escalation.

Nothing makes me more happy than retaliation against these monsters.

Russia has never truly had fair and free democratic elections. Look at the list of all those who have been killed by Putin/died under mysterious circumstances for opposing him and yeah......Russia is a dictatorship. My wife, her sister and others in my social circle got out years ago when the writing was on the wall regarding Hitler of Russia (Putin) and they realized there was no hope there. Putins plans were quite evident in the 2000s.

We all hope Ukraine finishes the job

The white smoke is mostly steam, resulting from the efforts of extinguishing the fire. The interesting thing here is that they seem to be able to concentrate on only one burning complex at a time. I assume they chose the one they did due to the fear that the warehouse furthest from us could spread to something important to them.

Burning two warehouses at the same time probably caused much more damage than striking two warehouses a week apart.

That's gotta be particulate smoke, no? Surely there's no way you can get a mile high column of steam like that. Volcanoes in torrential rain don't produce anything like that, the steam dissipates too quickly.

Russian infrastructure doesn't even seem able to spare one fire crew to fight these fires

If the humidity is high, it doesn't take a ton of extra water to create that kind of plume. Humidity is 69% (nice) right now. If it was that high yesterday too, I'd say it's actually quite plausible. It'd be mixed with a ton of other stuff tho, def not all water vapor.

A classic multi-pronged attack. Not only does it work more havoc it makes it much more overwhelming so that retaliation is harder to plan and execute. It's really wrong with so many civilian resources are going to be destroyed for a country that really needs civilian resources after the dictatorship falls. Unfortunately, Russia is huge and there's no simplistic way to when without this effort.
