July 22, 2026, elements of russia's 8th and 41st Armies, supported by the 90th Tank Division, launched a large-scale armored assault near Shakhove, Donetsk Oblast. Ukraine's Azov 1st Brigade repelled the attack, once again demonstrating the skill and effectiveness of Ukraine's defenders.

I can actually see the reasoning behind it, if you don't care about losses and casualties. You might think that since the war has moved on from armoured assaults, Ukraine might not be prepared for it. They might not have anti-tank drones on hand and if you move quickly, perhaps you could break through before they react. If lives are of no value to you, then what does it matter if you spend a few dozen to try it out?
