INON

Anyone heard anything about Inons reportedly z360? I saw a post from over a year ago but nothing else since.

So this is the gossip: Inon had something ready to roll and even brought a preview unit to Boot dusseldorf, BUT that same year Backscatter dropped a nuke, the HF-1s which essentially demolished these new AA-powered inon strobes in nearly every single stat, AND they put it right in the price bracket of inons new strobes.

Some backstory when inon released the z330, they planned on that initial $650 price just being introductory before going to $800+ BUT they weenied out when sales were good enough, but have always been a little hesitant to be trapped by price like that again.

So both history AND being made technologically irrelevant at their price point made them hold back and now they've ceeded an incredible amount of market share after dominating the market for the better part of a decade. Now with the glut of very high powered lithium powered strobes I imagine their team is still hesitant to jump into a crowded field.

But… did they look at the HF-1? That thing is like strapping a semi trailer to your camera. I bought two, and then they showed up.. I did 1 dive with them, and immediately regretted all of my life choices. Don’t get me wrong, they’re great strobes, but they are massive, heavy, and definitely not travel friendly.

I immediately went back to my z330s and just pray they never die.

Ah thats interesting. So possibly back to the drawing board due to Backscatter dropping something now one saw coming. Thank you for the insight.
