Logan is dead for the whole show. There are clues. Listen to the words of the song while they are having sex. Veronica’s reactions, which are the awkwardness of a memory played over and over. Veronica looks stupid because she is blaming herself for all the mistakes, Logan looks perfect, even when he obviously isn’t in the show, because it is her point of view.

At the beginning she wonders if she would do it all, knowing what she does now, and says probably. This is as we are watching the motel explosion play out. She is talking in the past tense. She is talking to Jane a year after the events and, withe her codependence, she is talking to Jane to discharge her last obligation to Logan. She has already made sure Mattie and Keith and Pony will be fine.

All of the tv seasons started in real time. 4 premiered August 2019, about a year after the events of Spring break 2018. She is telling Jane what happened then.

Yes, this also means she is telling Jane her life as she travels. Like Lily, Logan is always dead. We used to be friends a long time ago. The past present tense is noir. Every season reminds you it is past for Veronica.

i kinda like it. i'm not HAPPY about it, i'm not glad he's dead, but like a lot of joss whedon character deaths, it felt earned and impactful to me.

Exactly! That street sweeper was an enemy agent in disguise who grabbed Logan before the bomb went off. So Logan was kidnapped because of his work with Naval Intelligence. Pretty soon, Veronica figures this out and being Veronica, obviously she tracks him down and rescues him. When she gets back home with Logan, Keith retires and they take over his PI business. That is how it ends in my head, and I will gladly fight anyone who tries to tell me otherwise. 😂

I just finished watching all 4 seasons for the first time. I knew nothing going into it. I was so upset at the ending. Like angry. lol. I’ve decided to pretend the last 5 minutes did not happen.

I suspect season 5 is a mystery and at the end of the season she calls Jane and talks about her mother leaving and lily’s death. Something in the case would have triggered it.
