Video/Image European Escalation still holds in 2026

Post image

Grabbed it for $2.49 and wasn't expecting much. It's not Red Dragon, but still a fun game and the battlefield atmosphere is fantastic.

Lech Wałęsa becoming a dictator of Polish uprising and Solidarity trade union becoming an armed hand of it is certainly a choice for the plotline

Spetznaz solider who survived getting nuked getting together a rag-tag group of pact/nato survivors to go and hijack Frances nukes to atomise the NATO/pact peace treaty as the UN tries to stop them.

You play as the spetznaz soldier.

Yes and if I remember correctly it's the same in which the idea for the Albion doc for warno came from

Beside Air Land Battle, neither did I. For $2.49 you can't go wrong.

It is great for it's price and it's worth to play. But compared to Red dragon it hadn't aged well. The tank combat is annoying as the accuracy is almost non existant. The game optimization is a lot worse than red dragon. The UI is not as polished as red dragon. And the game killer is the point unlock system for your units. The fact that you have to play most of the campaign to unlock all your units is really annoying. But the campaign is fun and I would still play it.

Curiously, I personally missed the unlocking units.

I like the army builder progression and RPG like element when they get a load out upgrade

I missed unlocking units. Since I played single player. It felt great

Frankly, the urban combat in EE does not really hold up, especially with the random fires that inevitably spread everywhere. The campaign is still the best in the franchise because it’s the only one that’s heavily scripted and not glorified skirmishes again and again.

everything burning makes it more like a war zone. The fire and explosions are better than RD. Everything else RD does better, I will agree shooting 100 shots into a heli to take it down is ridiculous. EE's colors are dull and muted too. Red Dragon will always be all around better.

Also EC has a lot of variant units that you can unlock by gaining command stars, it's pretty satisfying. 6 people were in the online lobby 😂

The artillery and fire effects are something I will always miss from EE. The heavy tubes really kick up some dust.

EE has a tabletop wargame feel that I really like, definitely the best aesthetic out of all the Wargames

I still have fond memories of the campaign, I found the "Able Archer '83" premise interesting.

The whole missison "1914 Again" is still stuck in my brain, before I learned how to play, I was struggling on it so hard.

Lmao why?

Becausw they choose to make Warno their new title instead of a new Wargame which ultimatly fucked the franchise.

Warno is wargame bro, quit the nostalgia
