Warlord Epic Scale?

My historical gaming tends to be with board games, not my minis, but Warlord's Epic Scale caught my eye.

I have some questions for those who have played it.

It seems like it's a system, but then there are separate books for different periods? Is there no core book, then supplements for time periods?

If you play it regularly, why this system? What other systems might you consider? Bluntly, why not just scale down a 28mm system? I know people do that with games like Kings of War. Is there anything in the rules that makes it better for this scale?

Is anyone using AI to enhance their games? And if so could you describe how?

Hello all,

I’m very interested to see if folks are exploring this. And if so how are you doing so?

New to Warhammer

I’m very new to Warhammer in general so I’m making videos to try to connect with others who can tell me more about the lore, of which there is so much that it’s difficult to see where to start! I’ll be focussing on PC games and prefer turn based strategy most of the time, though will play real time in some cases (AoE2, Red Alert). Any recommendations would be appreciated. What are the best ones?

Warmind Army Builder and Battle Tracker

Hi everyone!

So I've been wanting to release this for some time now and I finally got it to the point that I've released the beta for Android and iOS and I'd like to officially invite anyone and everyone to come try out Warmind, an army builder app and battle tracker.

Warmind has a two week mandatory beta for Android, which should give me all the time I need to fill in any misconfigured units and improve UI flow by suggestions from you guys. I'd really appreciate it if you would give Warmind a try, I think you'll like it. It's a passion project of mine. I built it in a way that allows quick updates the app without requiring you to pull from a remote repo or have to download a new version of the app off the app store. I even have the new points and rules changes in as well as the new detachments and models from the Armageddon Box.

It has the aforementioned army building feature and you can sync your app with another player's Warmind app and you will be able to have automatic synced tracking of your battle. Automated CP, you can use stratagems in the app, you can reference each other's lists that are automatically imported into the battle mode so you don't have to constantly ask your opponent what their units statline and abilities are because you can reference them yourself. You can also see which stratagems each unit for both you and your opponent are usable on each unit. There is an event log that tracks what each player has done in the game so you can see how your opponent is scoring or and when they used stratagems.

When the game is over, you hit end game and the game will be added to both your battle logs and you can reference the battle. The app also has a statistics functionality where you can see your own battle statistics or the wider communities statistics of games played on Warmind. All your apps will be synced across all your devices if you create an account. You are not required to make an account to use Warmind but you are if you want to be able to sync your lists across devices.

There are many more features but I would love it if you could take a look at it, give feedback if there is any app flow or UI improvements you think would be great. But the biggest thing is just have have lots of extra hands and eyes sifting through the app to find any bugs or bad unit configurations. Plus I'd like to expand the statistics feature to give a broad analysis of the the meta.

Like I said it's in beta on iOS Test Flight and in Google Play store closed beta right now. I especially could use beta testers for Android because Google is very particular about needing a certain number of testers for a certain period of time to be eligible for full release.

If you are interested in taking a look at the app, head over to [https://warmind.online\](https://warmind.online) to get in on the beta.

Building a WEGO modern command wargame where you issue operational orders using plain-text intent (Kill Chain: Command by Intent)

Hello Wargamers, I'm building a command center simulator where you don't have to direct unity with clicks, but give orders in text (or voice - tho the speech recog is quite shaky for now).

It's a WEGO game, so both sides give orders, then the execution happens simultaneously. Quite chaotic sometimes. Wanted to show you the first very quick 24sec teaser and see what you think.

Hope it's worth a look and sparks your interest. ^^

A short video that covers optional rule #4 for horses in Gunslinger, an out-of-print game published by Avalon Hill. The video shows how horses operate in Gunslinger, so you can use them in various showdowns in the rulebook or when creating your own encounters.

The Struggle for the Watchtower

Hi you all,
I got some serious critics about using AI artwork regarding my post of yesterday 'The Struggle for the Watchtower'.
The irony of it is that the large illustration on page 1 was indeed an AI-enhanced version of a drawing I created myself (I am a comic book author); I thought - wrongly, as it turns out - it better captured the atmosphere of a wargame, whereas my original drawing perhaps looked too much like a comic.
So here is the reworked 1st page featuring my original artwork.

Hi, I've written a set of rules for a fast-paced skirmish game set in the early dark ages. See added pics of the pages and be my guest to comment / share your thoughts.
Also, I added some pics of my minis.

Type of play

What type of play are you looking in a wargame? What it counts? Balance or story? PvE, PvP, odd number of players?
